Cards were supposed to be tournament quality cards. I don't feel like they are any better than the sets you can buy at the stores, not like the older 80th anniversary sets that were real tournamnet cards. Still they the cards are fine to play with but just not what I expected.

My family has played this game for years. I was excited to purchase the Rook 100th Anniversary Edition. Well, the cards are not sized correctly. For some reason they are a little wider than a standard deck. Also, these are very poorly made. The plastic coating is non-existent, and there is no "linen" in the cards at all. They dog-ear after a couple of rounds of play. Possibly the worst deck of cards I've ever had the displeasure to use.

These cards were supposed to be tournament quality. They weren't. My $5 Rook cards purchased at Walmart are higher quality! I was also dissappointed by the fact that the deck I purchased was missing the Red One. Returned the set I purchased for myself as well as one that I had purchased as a gift for my Rook-loving brother.

This is a nice, old-fashioned Rook deck. The numbers are easy to read, the colors are vibrant and easy to see. The counters even have a star code to help you remember their point value. For veteran Rook players who prefer the older versions of the game, this deck is great.

I suppose I expected a little bit more out of a "100th Anniversary" edition. As Rook cards aren't that easy to find, this is a satisfactory deck, but it's no more special than the regular decks I've purchased in the past, so really isn't worth the extra money. I say better to buy the set for $8.00 and save your money.

This is a fun card game of strategies and some luck! The story behind Rook cards comes from religious groups that wanted to play cards but not use the same kind of cards used for gambling games thus the cards are numbered 1 through 14 in four different colored suits! Cards are dealt, bids are made for the privilege to call a trump and get the unknown cards in the kitty. The main card, The Rook, is a wildcard with the most points that can be played as the highest trump card or it's the lowest and needs to be protected by the other higher trump cards. The box should come with a warning that it can be addictive! I recommend purchasing more than one box of Rook cards and, to make sure they last longer, get the deluxe Rook cards which are more durable. Recommended for high school ages and up.
