5.0 out of 5 stars This is a really nice version of Jenga.
Both of my 5 year old boys got a Jenga game for Christmas this past year. One got this set and the other got the set that just comes in a box. This is definitely way better because the blocks can be put away nicely in this canister. The box for the other one is flimsy & we've taped it repeatedly already.

1.0 out of 5 stars Flimsy stacking tower
Jenga is a great game but this version ruins it. Instead of the typical plastic sleeve used for stacking the Jenga blocks at the start of the game, this version comes with a flimsy laminated piece of paper instead. This makes it extremely difficult and frustrating to create a straight tower at the beginning of the game. I would recommend purchasing the classic version...

As for the game, it's fun & really easy to learn. All of us like it. Every family should have this. None of us are experts yet, but it doesn't matter. The boys like it just as well when the whole tower falls down.

Definitely a good gift for ages 5+. ALL ages would enjoy this.

The main thing that differentiates this version from other past versions is that the large bin allows for quick "put away". Other older versions required you to stack them on the V plastic before storing. This one allows you to put them away quickly for those who don't have patience after the game.

The blocks are well constructed, durable, and each block has just slightly different measurements from the others to add a little challenge to the game.

Great value, fun to play, and it isn't that hideous mahogany color that new sets come in.

2.0 out of 5 stars Could you possibly come up with worse packaging?, April 24, 2010
This review is from: Hasbro Game - Jenga (Toy)
Jenga is a great game, but the packaging of this version of the game is awful. Not only is it much bulkier than it needs to be, but the stacking sleeve is so bad I might as well say it doesn't have one. Get a different version of the game if you can.

We've been very pleased with Jenga. It's a lot of fun and the kids enjoy playing it.

The only reason I gave it four stars is that the stacking tool that helps you to quickly set up Jenga was made out of cardboard. The older sets had one that was made out of rigid plastic. It got ruined the first day and ended up in the recycling bin. This had made Jenga slower to set up.

5.0 out of 5 stars An essential for your game collection., February 5, 2008

This is one of those perfect games that has something for everyone. The pieces are tactile and satisfying to touch. Little kids will just play with them as objects - or as blocks. The game of Jenga itself is instantly easy to learn and is playable by all ages. You just stack them up and then each player takes turns removing pieces until the tower falls. The loser is the one who knocks it over. Tactics are simple and yet the game has great replay value and is satisfying to play even for those with advanced intellects. It's the kind of game a sophisticated adult and a small child can play together with no condescension. It lends itself to party play, but can also be played alone. Unlike many games, it isn't ruined if a piece is lost. All in all this really is one for the ages.

4.0 out of 5 stars Where's The Stacker??, October 12, 2010

When Jenga first game out it included a plastic guide for re-stacking the blocks. This version has a very flimsy thin cardboard guide for re-stacking, it's useless. The cardboard canister it comes in is very sturdy and great for storage and on-the-go play. The blocks feel... good. The are smooth but when compared to the original blacks they are lacking in substance. The Jenga game itself is a good, fun, family game. Four Stars! The only thing not making it five stars is the lack of a strong stacker guide.

3.0 out of 5 stars Let down by lack of stacker, October 22, 2010
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars

I'm guessing they opted for the paper stacker to meet some target price point. It was a big mistake.

A hugely fun game is spoiled. The start of each game is a frustration.

An otherwise hugely durable game, with wooden blocks and a good cardboard container is made less durable by using a flimsy, thin cardboard stacker.

Jenga - we deserve a stacker that's of similar quality as the rest of the game and packaging. Even if the game costs a dollar more as a result.

I bought this toy after seeing it on one of the TV serials and I have enjoyed playing with it. It is good way to pass an evening with your significant other or to even entertain guests
