Not as good as the original
on November 17, 2006
I got the new Furby a while ago, and at first it was quite fun. But after a week or so, it started to get boring. Now I've pretty much completely lost interest and mostly only play with my original Furbys and Furby Babies. The new Furby gets very repetitive, since they can only say and do a few things, and they don't do anything randomly, which was a lot of the fun in the original. They also don't react to their surroundings at all. They only play one game, which requires you to actually get up and walk around, which you might not be able to do in certain situations, and it's also not that hard. I could think of a bunch of other things wrong with the new Furby, but it would probably annoy you. The voice recognition isn't even that great an addition, since the new Furby only responds to a few phrases, and there are a very limited variety of responses to the phrases. The original Furby is much more interesting and interactive, in my opinion.
Basically, if you want something interesting which is likely to hold your interest for more than a week, then I would recommend an original Furby. Just one thing: I would look up which ones you can put in Deep Sleep mode, which can come in very handy.
