The Whistler is the most unique of all the Nerf darts out there. Standard suction rounds are a fine standby- they fit a wide variety of weapons and every one that a standard round is compatible with can also use Whistlers. But the Whistler is no ordinary dart. Sure, it doesn't have the ability to stick to targets or surfaces, but its ability to emit shrill whistling sounds in flight has a certain psychological edge to it. Intimidation and stuff. The sound of Whistlers sailing overhead and beside isn't going to boost enemy morale, surely. Because their front is not as flat as the standard suction round, Whistlers also have less drag, and as a result go faster and farther by a certain degree.

This 36-pack of Whistlers is an excellent value. So many rounds for $5-6 in stores, and about the same online. I have always found Nerf-brand rounds to be well made and providing excellent value and entertainment for the money. I highly recommend this one.

My entire team uses these at work, and they are a huge hit. ONLY buy the whistling darts--not the suction cup darts, not the velcro darts, nopt the glow-in-the-dark darts, not any other kind. For workplace ammunition, these whistling ones are what you want.

Why? If you have a good arm and good aim, you will quickly dominate your team. The target person will hear the distant whistling, hear it getting closer, and quickly realize that it's too late--they are doomed to have a lightweight dart bounce off their head and that you are the source of it. You get RESPECT with these darts.

Average throwers with a typical office ceiling height can only throw them about 2-3 cubes away with any degree of accuracy. Good throwers with more powerful arms can get them 4-5 cubes away, so consider range and skill level in planning your attack.

Project manager tip: if your team uses these, fresh new packages of them are useful for bribes.

These darts work really well in the N-Strike Nite Finder guns that we got my son for Christmas. They don't whistle much when you first start using them but after shooting them for a while they actually sound really cool. The whistle darts don't have a suction head to they fly faster than the suction tipped ones. Be sure to buy a couple of packs to keep the action moving.

i've had these darts for a while now and they still shoot great. You can't use them in the Recon, Raider, Longshot, etc. Any of the guns that use the clip system can't shoot these darts. But most of the others will like the Maverick which is what I use. These darts are accurate, fly far, sting, and like the name says; whistles.

I say this is decent for two reasons:

The first is cost. They weren't cheap at $11.31 but when you look around at other Nerf dart offerings, those are hard to justify cost-wise. This is one of the better deals, and I wanted genuine Nerf darts as opposed to buying a Chinese knock-off that may not work as well.

The second reason is the whistle feature, which intrigued me. To be honest about that I'll admit that I can't hear any whistle sound, likely because I have 62 year old ears and went to too many concerts back in the day. However, my wife and son say that they can hear it whistle, so I'll trust their verdict on it.

I probably wouldn't buy this again since whatever whistle it does make is subtle, and I'll just look for deals on the blue Elite darts.

We got this as a supplemental gift for our nephew's Christmas gift (a Nerf Gun), as kids tend to lose the provided ammunition easily. This is a wonderful set of darts, and when fired properly, they do genuinely whistle. We've had a great time with them.

I got these to supplement some nerf guns for my kid. These are great. The love the whistling noise (that I wasn't even aware of when I bought them). They are durable and work well in the guns.

Like everyone else says they don't whistle when fired from a "Nerf" gun, I did get a small whistling noise by blowing on the end of one but that is not the way they are suppose to work. Outside of that they work fine seem to shoot straighter then the regular darts but that is only a perception not a proven fact. I'll not order these again!
