Sure, you can let your child use your laptop to watch movies or play games on a long car ride or airplane trip. But do you really want risk losing valuable work data or have sticky hands touching the keys? Hasbro’s VideoNow XP is a durable 8-1/2-by-5-1/2-inch handheld video system on a smaller scale for a smaller audience. The system only plays personal video discs (PVDs) specifically designed for this player, which limits the viewing choices and gets a bit pricey as they are not rentable like DVDs. Among the viewing choices are cartoons, young adult shows and movies, and music videos. This XP model also offers interactive gaming PVDs.
This mini-laptop opens up to reveal a 3-inch backlit screen, which is just big enough to follow what is happening in the show. A 180-degree rotating hinge adjusts the screen to a comfortable angle for watching on the go. Video controls are along the front of the keypad area and feature play, stop, forward, and back buttons. A four-way directional pad for gaming is located on the upper left side of the keypad. Just as with an adult laptop, the VideoNow XP has a high-quality speaker, volume and contrast controls, and DC power and headphone jacks. This system runs on three "AA" batteries. Our son received video now xp as a gift, and it has kept him happy all weekend. He loves that he'll be able to take it in the car for long (or short) trips. I love that it will help our kids to not fight in the backseat. There are lots of possible PVDs we purchase for the future. A much better alternative than our laptop or renting a DVD player for car or airplane trips. We're thrilled!

yes for those of you who what to know is the videonow xp good. yes the video now xp is the best toy of 2005. it is so much fun to get all the disk there is like a 100 of disk to get. and like ever week there coming out with more. go to videonow.com to see all of tham. and get this they are comeing out with games for your video now xp. and you can watch videonow black and white in your new video now xp. and you can watch videonnow color in your new videonow xp. it is such a good buy. just get it. there is so much shows. cartoons. music videos. movies. games. you name it. videonow color was named best toy of 2004. but this year videonow xp is going to be best toy of 2005. videonow rules. if you dont have one. get it get it get it.

Are you a child who has always wanted a portable video player? Well I am! And thanks to the XP, I can take my fave shows almost anywhere!
I've had no problems with it so far, its way better than the other VideoNow Colour (Color.) It keeps you entertained when there's nothing on TV, you can watch many cartoons such as SpongeBob SquarePants and The Fairly OddParents! Its also backwards compatible, which means it can play discs from previous VideoNows! I love this item! Buy it today and you'll love it!
