Okay, I've heard alot of bad things about this guy. Time to address them:
First of all, his cockpit size. Yes, it's not to scale with the other transformers. Thats because in real life, our buddy Starscream here here isn't this big. Which brings us to the next problem. Yes starscream is big. But personally, I like him big. For me big is good. Some people may not like it, but I do. True, he doesn't have much detail, but he still looks pretty cool, even close up. Next, the transformation. People say it's frusterating. Barely. Yes, the wings fall off sometimes. But not often enough for it to be too bad a problem. And if you move the pieces right, which is very easy to figure out, you should have no problem doing the transformation. Another problem I've read is his arms are to short. Yes his arms are kind of short, but I personally wasn't bothered by it. I guess it depends on how the individual person feels. I know I said the educational value was five stars. It isn't really, I just said that to keep the average up. Oh and in case you were wondering, his crown can stay on him in vehicle mode too, without his head being overexposed. Overall, I'd rate this guy 5 stars, 3.75-4.5 if your picky. If you only want this guy for play value, you might want to get the smaller one with Vector Prime. But if you like 'em big, and money isn't an issue, you should get this guy. It might be a good idea, though, to look at him in the store so you know what you're buying. Personally, I love him.

Overview: An enormous reincarnation of the legendary G1 character, Starscream transforms from a 18" tall robot into a futuristic fighter spaceship. Starscream is the third largest transformer ever to be made. Relative scale issues and lack of detail and articulation suggest that Starscream was designed to be produced at a much smaller scale, but was then enlarged in order to make fan-boys drool and shell out $60-80 bucks.
Robot mode: With a superficial glance, Starscream appears to be a TF collector's dream. His face is stunning, his physical design is impressive, and he's gigantic. However, closer inspection reveals that Starscream is a veritable brick with stubby arms. In general, most of the larger Cybertron robots tend to have a lot of articulation and attention to detail, but both of these are lacking in Starscream. He's nice to look at from afar, but doesn't have it where it counts when you get up close. Vehicle mode: While the vehicle mode is both original and interesting to look at, it's quite simply too big. It's awkward to handle and too large to display with a collection. The trade-off should be that a ship of this size would have an amazing amount of miniature details that would somehow justify the size, but Starscream has none. This ship could easily have been reproduced at 1/4th scale without losing any detail whatsoever. In fact, this is probably what was intended, as is revealed by Starscream's enormous single-pilot cockpit, which is far too large for the people that would fit inside of Optimus Prime or Megatron. There's just no reason for the vehicle to be this big. Transformation: Starscream's transformation is uncomplicated, yet surprisingly difficult. Getting Starscream's legs to collapse into place for vehicle mode is difficult, frustrating, and usually results in one of his wings popping off. Poor design all around. While it's impressive that Starscream's robot mode barely resembles his vehicle mode, the process involved in changing him from one to another is highly annoying. To conclude: A Starscream/Vector Prime two-pack has already been announced and, judging from the suggested retail price, Starscream will probably be shrunk down for this release. If you're looking for a great transforming toy, I recommend waiting for the smaller two-pack version. However, if you're looking for an enormous, awesome-looking display piece, Starscream's robot mode is certainly an excellent one. C+

Basically, a blown up version of the voyager class Starscream with some unimpressive electronics. Really sturdy, if not clunky; more like Energon Omega Supreme. Not bad toy, but kind of a let down for its size. Kind of expensive nowadays, but it is fair deal for about $70. Check out the video for a more in depth analysis.

Starscream is unbelievably great, he can be an emperor or a general thanks to his crown. His robot mode looks so much like a real humanoid shaped robot that does not transform, but is just designed like a space ship. It's unbelievable that he actually transforms and his spaceship looks so good it looks like a model built for the spaceship purpose only! And if you add the crown on his vehicle mode, it looks like a flagship, not a single fighter! His revolving vulcans maybe simple, but it's very useful and great! The gun snapping out is very awesome and his sword snaps out on his right arm so it's like he commands his army with his sword. My only criticism of this almost perfect toy is when he transforms to vehicle and back, his two legs constantly bangs on the arms, and you have to force the feet down a bit so an anchor on the leg goes under the cockpit and hooks. And you need to find a trick to get the bottom of the tip of the cockpit touch the top of the feet. Other than that, it's a marvelous piece of work. I swear, in his robot mode with his crown, he really looks like an emperor.

I have been collecting transformers for a while and thought that the leader size ROTF Starscream was the best, but I was close to being right.I recently finally got the Cybertron Starscream version and can 100% say this is the best Starscream ever!!!!!!I know some reviews have said his arms are too short, the cockpit isn't big enough, and the detail isn't as good.I disagree with all of these comments.Starscream's arms are just fine, they proportionatly look smaller because of the size of his arm mounted null ray cannon which is key activated and key activated snap out energon blade on each arm.For being the 3rd largest transformer ever made the cockpit size is perfectly proportionate as well. The detail on this bad boy is amazing to say the least. You really appreciate it when you get an up close look.I mean the shoulder cannons, which also light up and make electronic sounds are as detailed as can be.Every inch of this supreme class transformer is as detailed as it can be.Starscream comes with 2 planet keys and the legendary decepticon crown of leadership which he can wear whether he is in robot or jet fighter mode.Starscream also makes transforming sounds when you are transforming him.The transforming level is advanced meaning if you have plenty of experience with transformers it is not difficult. If you are a parent buying for a child 5-6 or younger you might need to help them out some. The trickiest part of transforming is folding the legs up into jet fighter mode which with some patience you would be fine. The durability is an A+ by far with very good arm and leg joints. The poseability for displaying this bad boy somewhere or acting out some battle scene's is oustanding as well.Bottom line this Cybertron Starscream is a well-made,high quality,10 out of 10 figure that all transformer fans should treasure. To give you an idea of how huge Stascream is, he is as big as the 6 robot ROTF Devastator as well as being the equal size to Unicron himself.I highly recommend Cybertron Starscream to all transformer fans and collectors out there.Transformers Rule!!!!!!!!!!

I don't really know why he's so big, he's bigger than Prime. But I tell you, this bot is the best. He's very easy to transform, I guess the only real problem I had with him was folding the legs under the arm/ wings, a little tricky but not impossible.
The flip action arm weapons are very nice, and easy to make pop out with the key. The crown of leadership is a nice little touch, a tribute to the Movie. One awesome toy. Rivals the Ultra Jetstorm from the Beast Machines collection.

This is a BIG guy and a lot of people are claiming it's not to "scale"... Arguably, it is. This version of Starscream is from the series where Starscream was the size of Unicron and Primus (He actually battled Primus)... He's this size to be matched with Unicron and Primus figures.
GREAT action figure and I'm SO glad they released this version!

This was the 3rd biggest figure next to Unicron. He has 2 Cyber Keys instead of 1 which are the Cybertron Key and the gold Earth Key (The one that comes with Evac). He also comes with the Crown of Leadership from G1 that he wears after he absorbs Primus' spark. He has a new weapon. Instead of 2 swords he has a gun with a firing missle. Very hard to find but very expensive. Great for comparing to Primus or Unicron. Fort Max not so much. Easier to find the voyager Starscream than this one. But, still cool.

Supreme Starsceam,
A Kid's Review
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Transformers Cybertron Supreme Starscream (Toy)
Starsceam is a real fun guy. He comes with a crown of leadership, and two cyberplanet keys, his first cyber key power is an energon blade (what he always had) and a null-ray cannon w/ launching projectile.Starsceam also has a storage in the back fof his cyber keys. So, big question, why does he have a cannon & crown? Well in episode 29 Starsceam used the omega lock or Primus's spark power to make himself as tall as the empire state building, to reformate himself, and gotten the crown of leadership. Starsceam also has two small cannons mounted on his chest.
If your a fan of the supreme class figurines like Unicron, Omega Supreme & Sentinel, and of corse Starsceam then I got good news for you. the next supreme class transformer is Cybertron Primus the creator of the transfomers and total oppitsite brother of Unicron (I'll make a review when he comes out). |
