4.0 out of 5 stars Not the easiest to transform BUT...
I'll start off with a warning to parents. I would not buy this toy for any child under 10 years old. It's very hard to transform and a lot of the parts are very cumbersome to get in and out of position, especially the sections along the back wheels. The instructions, like those with most Cybertron toys, don't do you any favors as they don't make much sense. I...

This review is from: Smokescreen - Transformers Cybertron Deluxe (Toy)
I'll start off with a warning to parents. I would not buy this toy for any child under 10 years old. It's very hard to transform and a lot of the parts are very cumbersome to get in and out of position, especially the sections along the back wheels. The instructions, like those with most Cybertron toys, don't do you any favors as they don't make much sense. I transformred this easier once I started fiddling on my own.

That's not to say this toy doesn't have some merits. The color scheme is great and will remind some long time collectors of the 1985 Transformers toy of the same name. The robot mode isn't bad either, although it's slightly clumsy. Still, it has a decent amount of play and display value in either form.

So in a nutshell, I'd say this is a good Transformer for older kids or even adult collectors. It's probably the closest thing to the original Smokescreen you are going to see anymore, as I doubt he'll make it to the Transformers Classic line. I like this one a bit more than Alternators Smokescreen. By the way, he displays nicely next to Transformers Classics cars such as Rodimus and Bumblebee.

Now, if you absolutely have to have the original, you can find that on ebay, and the reissue version should still be here on Amazon.

I have reviewed a few other Transformers items if you found this review helpful.
