My mother bought this as a treat for my four year old daughter. She has played with her many, many times, and I am pleased that she is an "action" doll that requires no batteries. You insert the straw into her mouth, and squeeze her tummy to get her to sip up her drink. The only drawbacks are that she doesn't come with enough diapers and juice mix. However, you CAN use ordinary tap water, so I add a couple of drops of food coloring to a 16 oz bottle of water, and it makes it look like juice for the doll. We've had fake blueberry juice, orange juice, apple juice, strawberry juice. Much more creative for the child this way, with the same effect. As for the diapers, it's like $[...] for a pack of 5 diapers for this doll. I bought a generic package of newborn diapers ($[...] for 40), which are slighly big, but if you overlap the tapes they serve the purpose. My daughter was much happier being able to play with her over and over again, instead of just a few times before running out of supplies. My six year old has also had a good time with her, and I'm hoping that in another year or two we can use it as a potty training type doll when my youngest is ready to be trained. Overall, I think it's a great little doll.

I bought this to use with our Potty Party (see "Potty Train Your Child in Just One Day" by Teri Crane). When you give her a drink, the water runs out almost immediately so you have to use an eye dropper to have her urinate when you are sitting the doll on the potty. That being said, my daughter loves this doll. She bonded with her instantly and carries her everywhere. She's stood up to being uncerimoniously banged around on occasion. I chose this doll over the fancier electronic Baby Alive because she was cheaper and not as creepy (any parent who knows about the movie Child's Play would be creeped out by a doll who says, "I want to play"). I was unable to find doll clothes, specifically panties, for her. I was able to easily alter toddler panties for her.
Overall, we are very pleased with this purchase.

I have a 2, 3 and a 4 year old girls and really, it's just too much work for the parent. The baby drinks the juice so quickly that my kids were (we haven't played with the doll since Christmas day) constantly asking me to refill and help them change the diaper.... Since Christmas, I haven't helped them with the doll because it's just too much work period. Maybe if you have older girls who enjoy dolls and could do it by themselves, but the baby leaks and is sort of messy too so be prepared to be running after your child cleaning the dolls mess up.
