This review is from: Battleship Travel - Fun on the Run (Toy)
Portable Battleship is a scaled down version of the regular game, where all of the pieces are just somewhat smaller.
The game is just as fun as I remember from my childhood. The general game play revoles around both players placing thier "fleet" on a 10 x 10 grid and then taking turns bombarding the other players fleet, attempting to find and sink all of their ships. The pegs still fall all over the place if you bump the bins hard enough, which makes it important to still play on a stable surface. It would have been good if this problem could have been resolved for the travel version. All in all a good "old school", no batteries required, enjoyable game. Recommended!

I bought this for my husband for Christmas last year. He'd told me that he loved Battleship as a kid, and I wanted to find it for him. All of the Battleship games at Wal-Mart and Target were a new version that neither of us liked. I looked for the original game online, but it was really expensive. Then I found this little travel size Battleship!
It's quite a bit smaller than I was expecting. The only thing that is bad about the travel size is that the pegs are really small! It's hard to grab hold of them, so we usually just dump the pegs on the table so they're easier to pick up. Sometimes the pegs fall out of the top if they're not in well enough. Going back, I'd still buy this version. Even though there are a few "quirks", it's better (in my opinion) than spending the money for the full-sized version.

A tacky, poorly made plastic toy that is completetly useless. The coordiantes are stamped into the plastic and barely visible, so trying to play this game is a struggle. The pegs are tiny and easily lost. I don't want to spend more money to return it, so it will go into the garbabe.
