4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to store
Classic game in an easy to store, durable case. Resembles a book and stores or packs well without fear of losing game pieces due to a broken or fualty lid coming off. My 3 year old doesn't quite get the game and it moves a little slow for her but she is still young and will learn to like it - I loved it growing up!

3.0 out of 5 stars A fun and educational board game that requires lots of patience
I just recently purchased this game for my almost 4 year-old, and I find that she does not enjoy it as much as "Zingo" and "Hi-Ho Cherry-O". Part of the reason is because this game runs longer than the other board games we have. It takes a while to get from 1 to 100, and her attention span does not last the length of the game! What I do like about the game is that...

What I do like about the game is that reinforces the teaching of numbers [1-100] and also counting. Obviously, the game teaches patience, taking turns and coping with setbacks as well.

All in all, this is a fun and educational board game but if you're purchasing it for those who are preschoolers and below, it may not be as fun for them due to the length of the game. Also, this is a smaller, travel version [comes in a book-shaped case] and the board folds up, so if you buy this for a younger child, you may want to set up the game and fold up the board afterwards to prevent it from being ripped apart.

3.0 out of 5 stars Chutes and Ladders, December 26, 2008

Toddlers love this game. My son is three years old and began talking about the "morals" on the game board right away. At the top of a slide a girl has a pan of cookies, and at the bottom of the slide, she feels sick. He can understand from this that if you eat too many cookies, you feel sick. Unfortunately, this board game version did not last more than two days without being ripped. The board is delicately folded and only has a small section to hold it all together. It ripped into two pieces when an eleven year old tried to fold it to fit it back in the box.

The game comes in a durable plastic "book" with a slide out lid. The board folds up in quarters, but is thick and sturdy. My 4yr old had no trouble with it. The game pawns are cardboard pictures of kids that fit into plastic stands. They are a little thin and may not hold up, but you don't have to take them apart to fit in the box. It is worth the couple of extra bucks over the normal cardboard box. Plus, having several of these book games, they all fit nicely together on a shelf.
