Doh Doh Island Playset

My three year old son has a few different Play-Doh toys, even a "mega" set that includes about two dozen molds, cutters, fuzzy pumpers, extruders and such. But time and again he chooses Doh Doh Island.

This set includes:
* Three Doh Doh characters
* An island set piece with a cave and volcano with extruding top
* Palm tree extruder and roller
* Several molds for creating small items
* Plastic knife
* Four small Play-Doh modeling compounds

There are several nice points about this set:

1. The Doh Doh characters are made of very solid plastic and should be unbreakable, even under heavy use. The rest of the set is also high quality. Better made than some Play-Doh sets we own.

2. You can play "bowling" by molding tiki characters and then rolling a ball of Play-Doh down the "tongue" of the volcano, toppling them. My son loves this.

3. Cleans up better than some of the other extrusion sets (though the included knife should have the ability to poke out the Play-Doh from all the holes in the extruders, it cannot handle the smallest extrusion holes.)

4. Has a certain "grossnesss" factor that boys love when you extrude Play-Doh through the Doh Doh characters.

5. Good price for what you get and for how much play pleasure it provides.

Well recommended.

The Easter Bunny brought this for my 3 - ages 2,4, & 9 1/2. All three really love it. It comes with several Doh-dohs, so more than one kid can play with it & not fight over it. It has several areas to squeeze the playdoh through & a bonus for little ones is the Doh-dohs are mostly plastic so they can play like the big kids. The new play-doh is so much easier to clean than the playdoh I grew up with & it is softer, not so hard to use. The only complaint is with all of the little holes on all of the doh-dohs that need to be cleaned but some are big enough that you can use a knife, unlike the fuzzy-pumper.

What more could a four year old boy ask for this set has monsters, a volcano and a rock guy. The monsters are a bit hard to clean out so don't expect young children to clean up on their own, unless you have stock in Play Doh. The knife that comes with it has some helpful points for pushing out the stuck bits. The set IS worth the trouble.

If you like this playset,buy the Tiki Tu (Red doh doh) or Twiki(Pink doh doh) figures wich are sold seperately or the Doh doh Island:Skishketballplayset which was the more recent doh doh playset.I sure wish there would be a Flango character figure(the turquise doh doh).You know,Flango was actually a character from the video.I mentioned there was a bonus video.THe video featured 6 episodes:
*"Birthdoh Cake" wher MOt has a birthday and Twango and Zlok argue over who's making the cake.So the two bakers bring both of the cakes to the birthday and Mot ruins the cakes because he likes to jump so much.So everyone tastes the cakes and they like 'em together.
*"Happy Doh Lucky" where Flango finds a bad luck sign-the diamond dohstone so Mot and Zlok bring it back to the cave.But they lose it when they see a snake and Flango has the doh stone which was really a toy ducky.
*"Hip Hip hair-ay"where Twiki was starting to use Compound X instead of Doh Doh Hair Compound for Doh doh hair and uses them improperly.
*"Yo Ho Do" where Twango,Zlok and Mot are finding treausure and found it in Twiki's spetunias and it was Tiki Tu's treasure doh.
*"Video Doh Doh" where Flango is at the VIdeo arcade and is not very good at smashng Tikis.But when he sees a differnt point of himself he starts being good at it.
Well,I forgot the name of the lastepisode but in that episode,Mot wants to win the Tiki Bowl tournament but he can't hit the pins.So a splattasauras egg rolls by and Mot thinks its a bowling ball.Then he finds egg bowling ball and wins.
Great product for preschoolers.The video is worth watching and the playset is worth playing with.Too bad Doh Doh Island Adventures Volume 1 (2003) is not available on DVD.It's not even available in rental stores.THank You!

What fun you will have playing with your little one at Doh Doh Island. The PlayDoh characters are so funny looking you can't help but burst out laughing. My only suggession would be to use some of the other playdoh you may have around, the more colors the more fun.

I have a 2,5 year old and a 4,5 year old. Play Doh island is their favorite toy. They spent countless hours playing with it.
True, it does need some cleaning up after, but it's definitely worth it and as long as you don't let them play on a carpet, it's very easy to clean.
It's a toy that sibblings can share, which I think is a great plus. I would say that this toy has been my best buy of the year.

My 6 year old son received this for a Christmas gift and he absolutely loves it. His came with the vidoe which he watches all of the time. I would recommend this for any playdough fan and my son is looking forward to the new Doh Doh Island set comming out on 2/15.

My child has watched the video that came free with the playset over 50 times now! She sits there watching the movie and plays with the playdoh at the same time. I like how the Doh Doh's have big openings for easy cleaning. I recommend this toy highly for any child 3years and up!

This set is solid, the plastic is strong, and my almost 3-year old girl (I see a lot of reviews talking about this for boys) LOVES this playset, and so do I. The volcano slide for play-doh balls is fun, and there are 3 impressions on the volcano that can be used for additional play. I do agree that the play knife would be wonderful if it included an extension to get all of the holes unplugged, but overall, this is a good buy especially with the 4 small containers of play-doh.

My 4 year old nephew saw it advertised on TV several times and would always say "I want that". So I got it for him for an early Christmas present. When he opened it, he was so excited he kept screaming "Doh Doh Island!" He has to play it everyday, creating creatures and using his imagination. I highly recommend this fun and creative toy.
