Perfect Title for Perfect Family Game,

Board games are one of the greatest family group activities of modern times. Getting the board out, finding the pieces, rembering all the rules, deciding who sits where and goes when, and finally to end up with someone quiting over a dice roll that slid off the board. Yup good times!! Just think after all that fun you get to throw most of the pieces back in the box and shove it in the corner of the closet, for another 6 months. OR YOU COULD JUST BUY FAMILY GAME NIGHT FOR 360!! Thank goodness someone from EA finally figured out buying these games seperately from Xbox live at $10 a piece was ridiculous. With Black friday, and a slow economy you should be able to pick up this game for around $20, and that is part of the reason why I rated this game so high. Not only can you play the classic games with all the rules intact and "a rule/move" assist from the game, but you can play the wildcard variations as well. Again the game shows you what moves are allowed (or not) based on the game mode your playing so there is no cheating. You can play local or over Xbox Live and your Xbox live Avatars become your representatives in the game. The number of people that can play is based on the game your playing, and there is no split screen everyone plays the same board. My wife and Kids actually play this game without me (4 players max) so you know it must be good if my wife is picking up an Xbox controller. Here is the official list/ write up.
Join your host Mr. Potato Head as you play your favorite Hasbro games including CONNECT FOUR, SCRABBLE, BATTLESHIP, YAHTZEE, BOGGLE, as well as exciting new versions created for Xbox LIVE® Arcade in Hasbro Family Game Night. The only thing that could make this game any better is more addon games and lower Xbox live prices. I understand the game developers need to make money, so they should add more games to the title via Xbox live but limit the price to $5 a game. The only game they should make 800 points or 10 bucks is monopoly and they should totally rework that failed stand alone version to play as the current games on Family Game night works now. Pros: Should be able to get it for $20, Games are fun and everyone in the family can play, all the other stuff I wrote earlier. Cons: Family playing 360 takes up all your valuable first person shooter time, forcing you to watch reality TV.

Great 2 player family game,

This is an awesome two player game. Me and my wife have spent hours on this. The re-playability is very high. Battleship is probably our favorite, but they are all fun (Boggle, Connect 4, Sorry Sliders, Sorry, Scrabble, and Yahtzee). We have played them all quite a bit. I do like how you can play different styles of the game. It mixes it up a little bit which is good. I paid $20 for it and it was worth every penny. This game would be great for kids 6+ as well. My five year old daughter is still a little bit too young to play it, but in another year or so I'm sure she could play a couple of the games on it.

I bought this game as a Christmas present for my wife. She was always telling me that I got to spend all the time on the Xbox and she would like a game that she could play too. Well, this is what I found and it turned out to be a winner. She even enjoys playing with folks when we have a dinner party or when her parents were, she introduced them to this game. My only complaint is how few games come as part of this game. I wish there was a way to add more to it. As far as I can tell. there is no way to supplement the included games. Oh well. There's plenty to keep her occupied for quite some time and for $20.00, I'm not upset.

My teen boys and husband love this game -- especially battleship. A very fun way to play some old favorite games.

This game is about what I expected. You can play the original games and newer versions of them. No game boards, no lost pieces, no storage problems. I played it with my nephew and we both had fun. I would expect you to enjoy it also.

We got this game primarily for my 7 year old daughter, but honestly, my husband and I (and her grandparents) enjoyed it equally, if not more. Boggle is the best group game that kids 6 and up can enjoy.

we like this game and my friends who come over to my place like it so much. Esp connect 4 and scrabble.
It would be nice if all games are unlocked. Only 4 or 5 games come unlocked. Overall, good purchase.

Great game for family and friends. Everyone can remember at least one game that comes with this and have fun playing it. The price seems a bit steep, but considering how much each of these cost on xbox live ($10 a game I think) this is a real deal. One thing I do not like is that I can not install it to my xbox 360. I have tons of space and it still does not present me with the option to do so.

Disappointed in multiplayer online,

My far-away relatives and I both bought this game so that a group of people at each house could sit down and "play" a board game together. Unfortunately, only ONE person PER CONSOLE can play online with each other. We thought it would be fun for two people at each house to play, but no.
Nowhere does this say this on the game or in the documentation. Everything says "multiplayer 1-4 people." I think this is a total ripoff. And you can't return it once it's opened. If bought this specifically to play with a group online, so this is a huge disappointment. If I'm limited to just playing with people nearby, I'd rather just play the actual board game. What a concept. |
