These could have been a far better tribute to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Real American Hero line. The plastic is not as good as what they used back in the 80's, the articulation is slightly improved in some areas, but it's made worse in more areas.
The figures do not sit well as they have only a twist joint at the waist and do not bend. The top of the thigh is restricted by the waist/lower torso piece as well so the legs will not bend to a 90 degree angle. The sculpting is good and the weapon detail is really nice. These are much better display figures than play figures. Hopefully they'll improve the next waves or they'll lose a collector or three...

They're kind of close to the real G.I. Joes of my childhood, but not really the same. They're clearly lower-quality products. There are more joints, but none of them move very well, and they're kind of overkill - my figures arms don't need to move in 4 places. The waist join is kind of floppy, so they don't stand up very well, and the head is strangely forward, so they look like they're hunched over a bit.
On a good note, they do all come with a lot of guns, knives, belts, and so forth. They must have saved that extra plastic from around the waist and put it into making guns. They're ok as a nostalgic piece of fun, but they're not the same. Then again, what is?

I was born in 87', and I started getting Gi Joes when I was about four. They were mostly hand-me-downs and "lucky finds" on the playground at school. I remember when I went to Payless in 92' (now Rite-Aid) and gazed upon a wall of brand new, packaged figures. I was so amazed that I couldn't speak. I'm sure all Gi Joe fans and collectors get that feeling when they see new figures. I got this feeling once again when I purchased this collection. Overall, the figures look really nice, and they can move a whole lot more (except at the waist). I would recommend this for collectors only, these figures are very fragile, unless you know what you are doing. These are fun toys for poses and what not, they remind of just how fast life passes
Highly recommended for collectors only! Enjoy!
