this is an okay set. the scout gun has a good range, the missle is the best, but the hornet didnt fire well.some darts barely left the gun. i would buy this, once they lower the price.

My daughter has always enjoyed the nerf line of guns. When I saw this one came with the interactive dvd I decided to get this for her. As it turns out my daughter, her father, and I all really enjoyed shooting the 3 guns which combine to make one large unit. While her father is shooting with the hornet she shoots the scout or vice versa, and they play as a team against the dvd. I personally like the mega-missile! It shoots for a long distance out in the yard. Really, this toy is a whole lot of fun, which is especially important considering how expensive it is.

I highly recommend this for anyone between the ages of 8 - 108!!!

I'm 15 and have LOVED Nerf guns for years, but this one definitly takes the cake! I just whent out and bought it today and the moment I got it home played with it for a looong time. The best part about it is that it's three useful guns in one! First you have the easy to carry "Scout" which has decent range and accuracy with a realistic cocking mechinism. Then you have the "Hornet" which features a semi-automatic mode or an "all at once" mode and has a comfortable grip system. Last, but not least the "Grand-Daddy" of them all the "Titan". This baby fires a huge super missile up to 60 FEET! A must have for power and distance! Best of all you can connect all three together by cliping on the "Scout" and "Hornet" to the "Titan" and even use the second set of triggers on it to fire them. Trust me when I say BUY THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Three guns in one? Sign me up., August 10, 2004

This gun is overkill, which is an excellent thing. You can hit your target with seven bullets and a rocket before they even know what hit them. Modify this sucker and you can leave eight welts in them. It serves all your Nerf blaster needs: The Hornet (6 shooter) gives you a primary, The Scout (pistol) gives you a sidearm, and The Titan (rocket launcher) gives you a nice little something to throw in for kicks. The Titan can also be modified to make an excellent sniper rifle. I'd definitely reccomend the purchase of this item.

Nerf's new N-Strike line of blasters is great. They feature: Scout, Hornet, and the Titan. With the Scout you have stealth and accuracy, but it has a slight decrese in range. With the Hornet, you have a great rate of fire and range, at the cost of accuracy. And for the Titan, the Titan is over all the funnest to play with, the Mega Missle is a differnt type of ammunition from Hasbro's and Larmi's sandard micro dart, mega dart, arrow, and ball ammunitions. It's 60' range is only surpased by Mattel's Ultimator's 100' but the Ultimator has been discontinued since 1999.I prefer the Titan, because it takes less pumps and is more accutate. The Unity Power System is when you link all three blasters together. You can fire all of the blasters from the second trigger(Hornet) and the small orange button(Scout). The Hornet features a Blast button much like the Blastfire were you can fire all the barrels at once. But like the Blastfire has been discontinued since 2000. The Scout has a top pull-back cocking mechanizim much like the Lock N' Load, which has far since been discontinued. I have been collecting and modifying Nerf guns for four years now and this is one of the best. I give it a 10/10.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Nef N-Strike System is AWESOME!, November 25, 2004
A Kid's Review
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Nerf N-Strike (Toy)
The Nerf N-Strike comes with 3 different guns that can be connected to each other. The pistol is called the Scout IX-3, and it has an interesting cocking mechanism. Instead of pulling something that is connected to the plunger, you slide the top backward. My NiteFinder (a $6 Nerf gun) shoots more than twice as far as the Scout, which is why I don't like the Scout. The medium-sized gun is called the Hornet AS-6, and it has two firing modes. You can pull the trigger to shoot the Hornet semi-automatic, or you can press one of the orange buttons to shoot all 6 darts at the same time. The box claims that the Hornet can shoot 30 feet or something (I can't remember what it says), but it shoots about 25 feet and it's very accurate. The darts leave the barrels at a slow velocity, but they move at a weird, slow-ish velocity that is kind of weird when you're being shot at because it sort of messes with your mind, and makes you stall. The missile launcher-type gun is called the Titan AS-V.1. This gun is very powerful! The box claims it can shoot 60 feet. I have not measured, but I would probably agree with what the box says. Most people will say the gun is awkward because the pump was supposed to be like a foot-pump kind of thing. It doesn't bother me though, except that it's big and I'm small. I modified ALL of my N-Strike Nerf guns, including the Scout, which I still don't really like. I shoot all my guns with homemade (Stefan) darts to achieve the best results. My Hornet shoots 90 feet, I have not measured how far my Titan shoots, and my Scout shoots an unimpressive, disappointing 23 feet L. The only thing that I don't like about the Nerf N-Strike is that they put the Scout IX-3 on it. I wish they had put a NiteFinder instead.

My conclusion: BUY THE NERF N-STRIKE SYSTEM!!! 5 Stars for fun because it's one of my favorite toys, 3 stars for educational because when you open up and modify the guns, you can learn about the different mechanisms used and how the things work! Four stars for durability because the Titan and Hornet will take some punishment, but the Scout is built sloppy and seems like it could break easily. 5 stars overall because this toy is AWESOME!

5.0 out of 5 stars Older Nerfer's impressions of N-Strike, September 29, 2004

I'm 23 and have enjoyed Nerf since I was much younger. The first thing I noticed when I bought this monster, was that Nerf has really improved the quality of plastic and molding from previous blasters. What I really love is the flexibily in the design, one person alone can be a tank able to fire all the blasters off of the Titan base. Alternativly two or three people can share the set as a group. Likewise the design of the blasters is ripe for modification and cutomization. I love the Titan Missle, it packs a wholop and is a lot of fun to peg my room mates with, but unfortunatly you only get one. Hopefully Nerf will offer refills or allow you to buy extras through the mail. The other excelent feature of the titian is the ablity to prime the Hornet's air tank when the two are connected. The Hornet is an upgraded version of the DX500 Blastfire which came out several years ago. The Hornet adds an additional barrel and can be primed by the titan or it's own pump when used seperatly. The scout is an ok entry level blaster, though weaker than Nerf's most recent pistols, the Night Finder and Tech Target. The Scout's slide cocking feature and ablity to be fired from the titan when side mounted are unique and pretty darn neat in that they give the Titan a second shot after lobbing its slow moving missle. All together this is the best I've seen from nerf and a must have.

I currently own 25 including the three in this set, and believe that these guns rank among the best of the best. The box does not lie about range: I fired the rocket from my dorm window and hit my friend standing across the parking lot. The other two guns also have amazing performance value with impressive range and accuracy, and look very cool. Recommended to all serious Nerfers.

the nerf N-strike is by far the best gun ive ever used! it comes with 3 guns- a rocket launcher,("titan") a shot gun (forgot the name) and a pistol ("scout"). the titan is great fun, and in wars it comes in handy. the shot gun is fun to fire 6 darts at once. and the scout is has by far the best fire-power ive ever seen.i'm not sure how educational this toy is, but who cares? this truly is the BEST dart gun.

P.S. if you buy this in a store, make sure to pick up extra ammo-you'll need it!

I'm a huge nerf geek but when it comes to this it like everything i dream of put into three death machines. If you're a nerf fan u should just stop reading right now and buy this thing. Just drop everything because trust me you won't regret it.

This is a great toy for all ages. Durability is number one. The guns snap together to help with storage....great fun in the water too..all the bullets are styrofoam and so they float. We will have this one around for a long time!!!!
