5.0 out of 5 stars Blast away
This is a really fun toy. I've watched our boys play with this for longer than they've played with any one other toy except a Game Boy. The target offers several modes for keeping score and it keeps me captivated too. All is not perfect, though. 3.0 out of 5 stars pretty good, but gets old
i bought this set with my birthday money last year. it's pretty fun at first, but then it gets boring because you have to shoot a certain target to play the game you want. the gun's pretty good, but it only has 3 darts. i'd reccomend to save your money for the NERF Dart Tag.

This is a really fun toy. I've watched our boys play with this for longer than they've played with any one other toy except a Game Boy. The target offers several modes for keeping score and it keeps me captivated too. All is not perfect, though. (1) The sensitivity of the target is good enough (what do you expect for less than $...) even though though the target sometimes does not seem to recognize a hit. (2) The gun is actually pretty powerful - the darts carry a pretty good load which is probably needed to ensure that the hits register on the target.

The bottom line: This is a heck of a lot better than the other nerf gun products simply because the kids are shooting at a target rather than each other. Highly recommended.

This is a good toy. My 6 yr old son is fascinated with it. I wish it had a few more point scoring options, it only has 3. You can score 4 points, 8 points or 20 depending on their aim. I also wish it looked a little more sophisticated. Its plastic with paper over it, feels flimsy. I can lean it against things so he can shoot at it at different heights but its not meant to free-stand. It should be hung on a wall. The gun shoots well! Good sound effects and 3 game types. I have had to buy extra darts, it comes with 3. Overall my son likes it, so I like it. Thanks for reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun for all ages, January 9, 2007

My 7 year old loves this. It gives him something to shoot at so he isn't aiming it a people. Walmart does carry extra darts so if they tear up, it isn't a big deal. Fun game. Still requires some supervision to make sure they don't shoot the dog or someone else.

This toy is pretty fun for a while. But then you realize that you only have 3 darts. For example the one mode where you shoot the part of the board the sounds are coming from. You can't do it in time!! I bought this for the gun only

5.0 out of 5 stars Tech Target perfect for young boys, December 7, 2005

I bought this game for my 2 nephews ages 7 and 10. I had to try it out before giving it as a gift and I think it is great! I know it isn't educational, but I just wanted something fun this year. The only thing I am unsure about is the darts. I don't know if you can use other nerf darts when these get lost or broken. You only get 3 darts. I'm a terrible shot, but I think the kids will really love this!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Nerf Tech Target is good but... $25, November 26, 2004

The Nerf Tech Target is an awesome Nerf blaster! But there are some things wrong with it... Well, being a pistol, you should use this gun as a sidearm. Being a sidearm, shouldn't it be small? Therein lies a problem, because this blaster is not small. You cannot put it in your pocket or in a holster, it's too big. Also, being a Nerf gun from the 2004 line-up, it should shoot MICRO darts! But no, it shoots mega darts. This gun is very disappointing. It is not worth the $20-$25 you pay for it. Not to mention the target is horrible. Sometimes you have to pound on it as hard as you can to get it to work, other times you can hit the wall which vibrates the target, setting it off. Very unreliable. The range is nice, but would've been better if it shot micro's.

My conclusion: Do not buy this gun. Instead, by the Nerf Nite Finder. It's 6 bucks instead of $25, doesn't come with a lousy, unreliable, piece of crap target. (Actually the NiteFinder comes with a cardboard target! No cheating and no being cheated due to crappy electronics!) Lets see... $6 for a better gun, or $25 for a worse gun. You can make your own decision.

This is a really fun toy. I've played with my younger brother with this for longer than he has ever played with any toy. The target offers several modes for keeping score and it keeps me excited. Everything is not the best though, the sensitivity of the target is good enough, and sometimes the target sometimes does not seem to recognize a hit. The gun is actually very very powerful; the darts carry a good load which is probably needed to make sure that the hits register on the target.
