My 2 1/2 yr old son got this for Christmas, and he absolutely loves it. I was surprised at how long he can focus his attention on it, almost two hours at a time! Everything in the kit is fun for him, although he does need some help with a few of the items. I usually sit there with him and play because he gets a little frustrated when he can't push the dough through the larger or small press on his own. But I don't mind because I have to admit I love play doh myself. It brings back a lot of good memories for me as a child. I think the thing he loves the most is helping me roll out the dough and press out the many shapes that come with it. He gets so excited that he kisses his creations! Its great for helping to teach him his shapes and colors (except when they get all smashed together :) I recommend putting down a towel though because with all the different factory parts and cutters bits and pieces get everywhere. Overall though, the fun and imagination play he gets greatly overshadows any mess or frustration.
