4.0 out of 5 stars Fairly good toy, just a few qualms overall!
I got this for my son who is 16 months old and is really wants to play with Play-Doh. I thought that this would prevent him from getting Play-Doh all over the house, and it has helped, but the table is pretty small so he still gets some on the floor.

The storage holes for the cans of Play-Doh in the table legs work really well, by the way. I'm not sure what the other...

Play- Doh is great but this table is a piece of junk!!!

I'm not sure what the other reviewer is talking about, as the cans fit securely into the holes and don't fall out (even when I'm shaking the table upside down to clean out all those little cracks.) As long as you push the cans into the holes, and don't just set them into the openings, the cans WON'T fall out!

My biggest complaint is cleaning the table off. I find it impossible to get all the Play-Doh out of the Fuzzy Pumper and also find it EXTREMELY difficult to clean the extruder piece.

The only other complaint is with the crayon/ marker carousel...the holes are not very deep, so the crayons and markers precariously balance in the holes. This bothers my child, who keeps trying to shove the crayons further into the holes (he has a good idea of how things are SUPPOSED to work) and ends up breaking the crayons. I've begun to use the holes for the markers to store the "drill bits" and "screws" for my child's Play-Doh drill, which works quite well!

Overall, I found this toy worthwhile, however, and would definitely buy it again given amazon.com's significant discount.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Complete Waste of Time & Money, October 14, 2005

Like several of the other reviewers, I got this table for my 2.5 year old who loves to play with Play Doh. On the surface, this table seemed like a great idea, but it was most certainly NOT great. First of all, the marker/crayon holder is pointless. The markers and crayons just fall out then get stepped on and broken. The fun factory handle keeps coming off, which is a pain in the neck. The worst part, however, is the little things like the "hair grow" feature (where you squish Play Doh through the character's "head" and he grows Play Doh hair.) Little bits of Play Doh are everywhere; I never can seem to get it all and I have to vacuum the area around the table every day. There are a million cracks and crevices that the Play Doh gets stuck in and the table never gets clean, even with my best efforts. I think that Play Doh is great and I am happy to have my kids playing with it, but this table is a huge pain in the neck and my kids prefer playing with their Play Doh at the kitchen table anyway. Spare yourself the agony!!

2.0 out of 5 stars What was HASBRO thinking??, September 11, 2004

I bought this toy for my 4 year old daughter. It was easy to assemble. Most of the features are very difficult to operate. The openings are very small so Play-Doh gets stuck in almost every area of this table, making clean up impossible.
The table provides shelves to stack your containers of Play-Doh, unfortunately, the shelves are too shallow so the containers fall off most of the time. The height of the table is also not right. It is too small for a chair, but too high to sit on the floor and use as a table. This toy is a total waste of your hard earned money. There are many other ways to enjoy Play-Doh.

2.0 out of 5 stars What a mess, November 1, 2004

My boys (4 & 2) received this as a gift. The legs keep falling off and what a mess. They always played with Playdoh on my counters and I never had a problem. This toy created such a mess on the floor. It was very difficult to clean and to store all the accessories. Will be selling this at the next garage sale.

I bought this item on sale for $..., and would not pay any more than that if I were to buy it again. The handle on the extruder comes off pretty much every time you use it- when you open it back up it bends all the way back and pops off. At first I thought it was just my 3 year old being too rough, but I keep doing it too whenever I play with her. The holes for the Play doh cans are a little tricky - you have to get the cans in there just right so they "lock" in. (Read: an adult really has to do it.) They will set in there if they are not locked, but then they fall out easily. The holes for the markers and crayons are much larger than the items themselves - not sure if they were trying to be accomodating for other brands you might have, or if this is just a bad design. The stuff stays in there, it's just kind of wierd. Clean up is a little bit of a hassle, but if you wait til the Playdoh is dry, it's better. Finally, the table is smaller than I expected. The ads show two kids using it, but I just don't see that happening. There is just enough space for two to play, but you know how kids are - they want to spread out. So, I'm not sure how feasible that is. In all, it makes a nice activity table for painting and coloring as well. But I don't think it's worth the average of $30 I have seen it sell for. I think you'd be better off getting a cheap table (maybe with chairs) and then buy Playdoh and some accessories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great play table, June 29, 2004

I thought this looked great and wouldn't buy it for my son at Christmas because we simply do not have the space. But one of the relatives did buy it for him. He loves to do Playdoh and all sorts of messy crafts on this table. Marker cleans right off. The pencil holder is useless, everything falls out. The fun factory is always coming apart. We don't store playdoh on it, but the holes on the top for cans of playdoh are just right for a sippy cup. But no matter. It's just rhe right size for a three year old. He spends half his day at it even though it is right next to his wood desk and the kitchen table.

I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing.
The playdough cans doesnt stay in the slots provided. Try having your child put back the playdough on the side rack. That ought otta get them frustrated. And trying opening one of those playdough cans. They made it both child proof for both child and parent. The carrousel for the markers/crayons, the holes are way to big and not deep enough. The two creases they made at each end of the table just gives you more work, trying to fish out the dough. They also should have made a chair for this table. Your better off just using a regular table and buying tubaware for storing the playdough and whatever accessories you have.

My 3yo daughter received this as a birthday present. This is one of her favorite gifts. She will sit at her Play Doh table (although this doesn't come with a chair) and play independently for a long time. The marker caddy IS weird, as others have said. The holes aren't deep enough, but the markers have stayed in there so it's doing it's job, I guess. No problems with the legs, pumper, extruder or anything else here. The cans also stay in the legs for me. I would recommend this toy for your child. My daughter LOVES it! I'm glad I read the reviews to get tips on how to clean it. I'll try the vacuum! I was trying to clean it with a damp rag, which wasn't working! :-)

When we first got this table for Christmas, I thought it would be such a mess. Well my daughter absolutely loves it. She got so many toys for Christmas but this is the one wear she wills stand and play for hours! Yes, playdough may be a little messy, but it cleans right off of the table, all you have to do is shake it upside down outside to get the playdough out of the cracks. Yes, it may come apart a little, but it is great she loves it. For 30.00 it is a great toy!
