5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Fortress
My daughters have just started playing with this toy and love all the different activities it offers. There's room for both of them in there and it brings a sense of adventure to our living room! It's the modern day fort for my little wonders! As a mom with limited space, I love that it folds up and can be stored in the closet and not take up a lot of space. Very cute toy...

The tag on the back of the tent says never let child play without supervision. This is especially true of my child (9 months). And it really needs CLOSE supervision to catch him if he falls. Once he tumbled head first over the door.

5.0 out of 5 stars love it!, September 29, 2006

I really love the discovery zone. It is very easy for me to get down on the floor and play with my son and there are so many activities you can do with it. It is amazing to watch how my son interacts with it during his different stages of development. My son is fascinated by it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than I ever imagined, December 25, 2006
This review is from: Hasbro Playskool Let's Play Together Peek 'N Play Discovery Dome (Toy)
Right off I will say I got this for free. Playschool gave a few of these away to Babycenter forum Hosts. My daughter was at the top of the age range (6-18 months) but I signed up for it anyway. It came right before Christmas so we saved it as a gift for our daughter. She received it today. We set it up on Christmas Eve so it was ready to go this morning. Believe it or not, she passed every other gift to play with the Discovery Dome first. And she hasn't stopped playing with it all day long. This is one of the coolest toys out there. She plays in it like a fort, crawling in and out through the door, dropping balls down the chute, playing the doorbell. Her favorite toys and books are already stashed inside. If I had an infant again, this would be my first toy of choice above any of the other infant gyms (like Baby Einstein which we had for her when she was younger). This one has so many things to do and it really grows with the child. And the price for what you get is awesome.

The Discovery Dome was easy to put together (very little assembly required) and is good and sturdy. I love that it can collapse down very simply and has two velcro tabs to secure it while it's collapsed. It has lots of fabric loops for hanging toys. The toys that it comes with are perfect for younger children. Most are a little young for my daughter (who is 18 months) but the doorway, doorbell, dome itself, etc are just perfect as an older baby's private space.

UPDATE: December 28. 2007. I thought I'd add an update. We've now had this toy for a year and my daughter is 2 1/2 years old. She still loves this. We call it her "tent" and it's a permanent fixture in her bedroom. For a long while she slept in it, now she just plays in it and loves to jump over the door and land inside.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great toy!, December 12, 2006
This review is from: Hasbro Playskool Let's Play Together Peek 'N Play Discovery Dome (Toy)
We just bought this for our little girl who is 8 months. I was hesitant at first, because she is our 3rd and our house already looks like Toys-R-Us (just what i need is another toy, right?!) We bought it for Christmas, but i couldn't wait and opened it, and I'm glad I did. She has not stopped playing with it. It really captures her attention. She is even staying away from our Christmas tree! Just when she starts to get bored you can turn her to another activity. Not only can parents play with baby, the activities give her 2 older brothers (2 & 4) a chance to play with her, too. Well worth it!!

The tag on the back of the tent says never let child play without supervision. This is especially true of my child (9 months). And it really needs CLOSE supervision to catch him if he falls. Once he tumbled head first over the door.

I've had this dome for months. When he was younger he had absolutely no interest in it. He started showing interest about 6 weeks ago when he started to pull himself to standing, which he tries to do on the door of the dome. I don't think it was designed for this. Now he's better at it but tries to climb up on the side of the tent walls too, not just the front. There is no way to discourage a child at this age from doing things like this. He is just now beginning to enjoy crawling through and around it.

He does love it and wants to play with it everyday. Absolutely loves the doorbell and the ladybug. We found it a bit loud though and put a piece of tape over the speaker to quiet it down. However, don't read too much into the list of features. The "book" is a bunch of plastic flaps, the puppet is not really usable. And it's unwise to hang anything on the rings.

That is why I think it's better to start using it for an older child. That plus some of the useless features makes me give it a lower rating.

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointing, January 13, 2007
This review is from: Hasbro Playskool Let's Play Together Peek 'N Play Discovery Dome (Toy)
My 8 month old daughter got this for x-mas. She loves to stand inside it, however for a relatively new stander the door is poorly designed. It slides shut and the roller on the door make it very hard for her. She can not pull herself up without the door opening or her slipping on the spindle on the door. That in itself is discouraging!!!!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Family Toy, January 8, 2007

We bought this for our 5 month old for Christmas. I have to say when I put it together so it was ready to go when Christmas came I was a little disappointed. There wasn't much for sounds and it seemed flimsy in the activity area. But I thought it was worth a shot anyway. We put him in it while our 3 yr old daughter opened her gifts and he was quiet the whole time. Which is amazing since this little man is very hard to please. But he was fascinated just looking around at it. Then our daughter wanted to play with him while he was in it and the laughter that came from them made my misgivings go away. She loves to play in it with him, play peek a boo with the outside flap, put the balls down the chute, hang toys for him to grab at, go in and out of it like it is a house. So it has shown me that it has a lot more than I initially gave it credit for. When we put him in his bumbo seat he sits in there fascinated, so I know now that when he is moving on his own this toy will be even more fascinating to him. It folds up nicely and easily, was easy to put together, and has captivated both my 3 year old daughter and my 5 month old son. I highly recommend this to any family who likes to get down and play with their kids. It is a lot of fun.

This product is great and comes with so many extra toys. My son loves it! He still enjoys playing in the house at 2 yrs old even if he is too tall to stand up in it. All kids who come over love to play with it. Now he runs in his house for privacy. It is in perfect condition and will be ready for my 5 month old daughter to play in.

I bought one of these off of craigslist for my girlie when she was just 7 mo old. She loved to lay in it outside and bat the the toys. Now as a 19 mo old, she still loves it. If she sees it folded up in a room, she tries to climb into it. It hasn't gotten old for her in a year which absolutely amazes me. The doorbell is adorable, the door is fun, and she loved to play peek a boo in it. Its great!
