Well I was a little concerned about the small size of the board, but once I actually played with it, I decided that having a small board does have a few pros.

Since the board is smaller than normal you can play it on coffee tables or on the floor more easily. Also since it has the plastic grid to hold the letters in place, it's easy to turn the board towards each player during their turn. After playing a few rounds I think I like the small board better than the larger board without the grid, and it's a lot less cumbersome than the giant deluxe boards with the built in lazy-susan.

Also I've discovered that it's easier to set the game aside, and pick up the match later. Since it's small and all the pieces stay in place you can set it in a chair or some place else out of the way and then when you're ready to play again you can pick up where you left off.

I really like some of the alternate versions of the game, mostly Hyper-race, Surprise and Free For All, but I'd rather just play regular scrabble. Free for all is kind of a mix between scrabble and boggle. I didn't personally care for Blanks and Blockers or Busting Out, but I do appreciate how the added games add value to the set.

As another reviewer has mentioned, the different boards are pieces of cardboard that could be destroyed, but I think they're tough enough. I mean you do need to be careful with them but also it's not like they're paper thin either.

I really like however thing folds up nicely and fits inside the box.

Pros:
Easy to turn board, tiles stay in place as board is turned or moved.
Smaller size makes it easier to play on smaller tables or the floor.
Includes 6 different games for the price of one.

I got this game as a gift for Christmas. My boyfriend and I love scrabble we play pretty frequently. The games are fun and something new but it seems overall like the pieces are pretty cheap. I have one from the 80's and it is all wood and a solid board game. This one is made out of plastic pieces and something that feels about as durable as construction paper which is the only reason i knocked off two stars.

i'm not great on spelling but I'm trying. The different back grounds makes this game fun and gives you several games to play.
