Hasbro Star Wars Transformers - Anakin Starfighter

I've just bought my jedi starfighter yesterday and well, it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. It has some skill level for a transformer, so the first times you build it you may find yourself looking the instructions again and again... that's a good thing.

I don't like the way the wings hold when transformed to robot, but you can't have it all, or can you? Apart from that, it's a wonderful model, extremely faithful to the original model in terms of propotion and is a really clever design. This has been my first transformer since.. um about 12 years and I'm not disappointed at all by it. The Darth Vader-tie fighter model is now in line, waiting to be my next acquisition.

I posted this before somewhere else, but I repeat that indeed the star wars transformers are somehow delicate, for kids of the 5+ age rating that appears in the packaging. I'd say those transformers fit around the 7+ mark.

Ok so I bought this tonite for my son. I figured I take it out of the package and transform it into Anakin. Yeah, I needed the directions. Which is ok, I expected that. But I've spent the last 2 hours looking at them, trying to decide if maybe somehow they put this one together wrong. It doesn't seem to want to flip where it shows it should. Maybe the directions are wrong? Maybe I'm wrong? Anyway I have done it a couple of times and I can see the plastic starting to stress, so I may have to take it back for a different one.

I feel silly, it's a kids toy that shouldn't be THAT complicated, so I'm really hoping it's the toy and not me being dumb.

So, just read the directions first. That's all.

My nephew loves it. These starwars transformer toys are all very cool. Be careful though--once you buy one, the receipient will definitely want a second sw transformer to play with.

My 5 1/2 year old loves to play with his star wars transformer. He figured it our without our help, and a month later he still plays with it a lot

5 y/o grandson spends much time playing quietly by himself figuring out how to "transform" character. It provides a challenge and feeling of satisfaction for acheiving the goal.

My two boys (6 & 8) spend hours playing with their Star Wars Transformers. It is a great toy that combines manipulatives with imagination. They would highly recommend it to any other young Star Wars fan.
