Product Description

Editorial Review

Whether or not they are familiar with Steve and Terri Irwin's TV show, junior crocodile hunters will enjoy this toothsome board game. Agro the Croc--actually a rather friendly looking motorized critter on wheels--roams around an enclosed game board, looking for handy ankles to chomp. Depending on the cards they draw, players may be on a safe spot as they hop around the board... or not. People-shaped play tokens sit in spring-loaded holders, and they're sent flying into the air if Agro bumps into them. A fun twist on the ordinary board game for players aged 5 years and older. Agro requires two AA batteries (not included), and adult assembly is required. --Richard Farr

5.0 out of 5 stars Crikey! What a blast!, October 25, 2000

Fans of Steve and the show will love this! Game play is simple. Icons of Steve and Terri move along the croc fence, but a selection of "Croc Bite" cards add Danger, Danger, Danger. A motorized Aggro the lawnmower-hating croc attempts to bump into spring-loaded game pieces, causing them to fly into the air uproariously. (not for very young children) Each Croc Bite card has interesting facts about crocodiles. Good on ya, Hasbro!

3.0 out of 5 stars Too Simple to hold the interest of "8-and-up" children., November 16, 2000

This review is from: The Crocodile Hunter Game (Board Game)
Having played this game with both a 5-year-old and a 9-year-old I'd give it a recommended age rating of 5 to 8 years. It will not hold the interest of most older children for more than a couple of games. The five-year-old still enjoys it, but the older child has no interest in it two weeks after receiving it as a birthday present. The educational value is limited: children can practice counting up to nine, and the game cards have a few crocodile facts which become repetitive after a few games. I recommend removing the "move 9 spaces" cards to allow for more crocodile attacks per game--that's the fun part to kids.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun game, but may seem corny to kids older than 7., April 4, 2001

This review is from: The Crocodile Hunter Game (Board Game)
I have a 10 and a 7 year old child that absolutely love Steve and Terri Irwin; they seldom miss an episode of "The Crocodile Hunter" on Animal Planet. So buying this game should have been a no-brainer in terms of getting something fun for them to play with. Right? Well, sort of...

There isn't much challenge to the game, so my 10 year old was quickly turned off to it. Not even the fun-fact cards could sustain her interest in the game.

My 7 year old son was another story. The roaming crocodile that pops Steve (or Terri) off the fence gets him every time! Ideally I'd like my son to sit still long enough to absorb the info. on the game cards.

All in all...a fun game, but for younger children.
