4.0 out of 5 stars Megatron, the samari
I've never seen the show that this version comes from, so I instead compare him to other versions of Megatron toys.
In general, this is a nice Transformer, though the wings and nose are a bit bulky on his back.
What I am not thrilled about is the samari looking head (wished it looked more like the G1 Megatron head), the see-through green pieces (which is...

2.0 out of 5 stars Megatron's in the house
Long ago, I purchased Megatron for 39 dollars. I didn't know, it was not in Toysrus. He had a tank for a weapon. It included a missile and Energon sword. White, green, blue, light blue, black, orange, and purple makes it a nice touch. It is pretty cool. In robot mode, his antennae stands so it will look just like the cartoon. His legs go flip-flap if you want the rest of...

I've never seen the show that this version comes from, so I instead compare him to other versions of Megatron toys.
In general, this is a nice Transformer, though the wings and nose are a bit bulky on his back.
What I am not thrilled about is the samari looking head (wished it looked more like the G1 Megatron head), the see-through green pieces (which is bothersome on ALL Transformers of this line), and the signature arm cannon being a tank. Looks terrible both on the plane and on his arm. (I personally fixed this by making my own cannon for him, which attaches both to arm and back of place and looks much better, and tossing the tank.)
The transformation is simplistic, which is fine as he still looks good in both modes, but his head does not hide away anywhere while in plane mode, which is sloppy for a Transformer this big, IMO.

Energon Megatron is one kick-ass decepticon commander transformer all around!I have about every Megatron done and this is a awesome version with amazing features. The detail is outstanding in robot or cybertronian fighter jet mode. The fighter jet mode has great realistic decor on the wings, thrusters, and body sections.Megatron has great articulation as well in the legs, arms, torso, and a very realistic head piece in robot mode. You can attach up to six mini-cons to increase Megatron's power also.Megatron features energon cannons in fighter jet mode and has a tank that attaches to his back or his arm as a cannon like in the G1 style while also turning into a sword for slicing and dicing autobots up close. You can push the button on the tank to fire missile and trigger lights&blasting sounds while also being able to press in the Energon sword for light and slashing sound. The other bonus is you get a comic book and collector card also included. The poseability is outstanding with great stability for acting out battle scenes or displaying this bad boy where you please. The durability is excellent as well with secure joints and an all around solid build for taking on any challenge that comes along. The transformation level is advanced meaning if you have plenty of experience with transformers there is mid-level difficulty. If you are a parent buying for a child of 5-6 or younger you might have to help some in the process.Honestly Megatron is very versatile for all ages with a managable transformation that can be learned after a few times of practice.Energon Megatron is a great improvement from him just being a gun in my opinion.Bottom line Energon Megatron is a well-made,high quality,10 out of 10 transformer all fans can enjoy.I highly recommend Energon Megatron to all transformer fans and collectors alike.Megatron Rocks and Transformers Rule!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Transformers...not just for kids, August 15, 2005

I purchased Megatron for my 3 year old who liked the cartoon (a saturday morning with dad I think) and was interested in the toys. I am constantly on the look-out for toys that interest me as well since I am his playmate much of the time. Both my son and I absolutely LOVE these toys (even his grandmothers have been caught playing with them)! We have Megatron and Optimus Prime and a few others (and still more in packages for his birthday and Christmas). These toys are so durable it's unbelievable and even though they are for ages 5 and up, my 3 year old can transform them (after a bit of practice) with no problems! They have many small parts that can and do sometimes come off (beware of purchasing if your son/daughter still puts objects in mouth) but they always go right back on with no problem (my son has actually gained some patience from this)! We are not collectors and could not care less about whether the colors are spot on with the show, we just love them because they are so versatile and fun to play with. They are an excellent way for a young child to learn to manipulate objects and improve manual dexterity and they really inspire some fun role-playing. Love them!
