4.0 out of 5 stars Inferno--a great Transformer!, January 3, 2004

I was always mystified by Inferno's popularity--I always thought that he looked unweildly and clumsy.

But then I actually got an Inferno figure.

Wow--this toy is great! Even the re-issue has die cast metal. The transformation is simple, and, best of all, Inferno comes with guns. Lots of guns. I can see why Inferno is so popular now.

Inferno's robot mode is great, as is his fire truck mode. The only problem I have with the toy is that, like many Transformers of the time, the fists are detachable, meaning that you have to keep up with them seperatly while Inferno is in his fire truck mode. Kids are going to loose the fists (and nothing is more irritating that a handless Autobot or a headless Headmaster!).

By the way, Hasbro just put out a similar re-issue--Grapple is simply a remolded Inferno. But if you ask me, Inferno is the better of the two.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not the best G1 had to offer, October 14, 2003
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Transformers G1 Inferno (Toy)
G1 Inferno was the big, gangly fire truck guy. Unlike many other G1 characters, Inferno is made mainly of plastic, with metal only being used for the feet. His fire truck mode is ok, but his arms are obviously visible in this mode. The ladder extends quite a ways, which is a nice touch. His transformation sequence is complicated enough to be interesting without becoming frustrating. In robot mode, Inferno stands about as tall as Optimus Prime. His legs make up most of that height, making him look like a 13 year old who's just had a growth spurt. It looks good but due to Inferno's design, his head seems a little disconnected from the rest of the body. Another problem is the fists, which, like the Decepticon Jets and Hoist, are separate pieces that cannot be stored within the toy in vehicle mode. As with the other G1 reissues, I would not buy Inferno for anybody who would treat it as a toy rather than a collectible as Inferno is quite fragile. In fact, I just got the toy today and the chrome is already starting to flake off after only a couple of transforms. Inferno is an OK model, but he's not the best G1 design.

Hay people!! I was really excited that i found inferno and that hasbro is bringin out all the old transformers again. if u guys ever watched the transformers cartoon u would know who inferno is, he never came out till the second season. he was always with red alert. he is a great addition too add too ur collection he isnt made out of metal like prowl or bluestreak, but he is still good too have.. too bring back old memories. these things arnt here for little kids its for people like me who are young at heart and grew up with these things. inferno turns into a fire truck, he is much taller then prowl and the others. i recomend him to your collection. thanks for readin!!
