Inferno--a great Transformer!,

I was always mystified by Inferno's popularity--I always thought that he looked unweildly and clumsy. But then I actually got an Inferno figure. Wow--this toy is great! Even the re-issue has die cast metal. The transformation is simple, and, best of all, Inferno comes with guns. Lots of guns. I can see why Inferno is so popular now. Inferno's robot mode is great, as is his fire truck mode. The only problem I have with the toy is that, like many Transformers of the time, the fists are detachable, meaning that you have to keep up with them seperatly while Inferno is in his fire truck mode. Kids are going to loose the fists (and nothing is more irritating that a handless Autobot or a headless Headmaster!). By the way, Hasbro just put out a similar re-issue--Grapple is simply a remolded Inferno. But if you ask me, Inferno is the better of the two.

Good, but not the best G1 had to offer,

G1 Inferno was the big, gangly fire truck guy. Unlike many other G1 characters, Inferno is made mainly of plastic, with metal only being used for the feet. His fire truck mode is ok, but his arms are obviously visible in this mode. The ladder extends quite a ways, which is a nice touch. His transformation sequence is complicated enough to be interesting without becoming frustrating. In robot mode, Inferno stands about as tall as Optimus Prime. His legs make up most of that height, making him look like a 13 year old who's just had a growth spurt. It looks good but due to Inferno's design, his head seems a little disconnected from the rest of the body. Another problem is the fists, which, like the Decepticon Jets and Hoist, are separate pieces that cannot be stored within the toy in vehicle mode. As with the other G1 reissues, I would not buy Inferno for anybody who would treat it as a toy rather than a collectible as Inferno is quite fragile. In fact, I just got the toy today and the chrome is already starting to flake off after only a couple of transforms. Inferno is an OK model, but he's not the best G1 design.

Hay people!! I was really excited that i found inferno and that hasbro is bringin out all the old transformers again. if u guys ever watched the transformers cartoon u would know who inferno is, he never came out till the second season. he was always with red alert. he is a great addition too add too ur collection he isnt made out of metal like prowl or bluestreak, but he is still good too have.. too bring back old memories. these things arnt here for little kids its for people like me who are young at heart and grew up with these things. inferno turns into a fire truck, he is much taller then prowl and the others. i recomend him to your collection. thanks for readin!!

A solid well put together design. A little more durable then other since is simple to transform. Well proportion. Nice casting looks great. A couple of clip on pieces like his head-wing. The arm kind of stick out when in truck mode. The latter works and you can switch his hand with a missile that doesnt shoot. Inferno was Red-Alert buddy and I have them both. He is little taller then the other Autobot cars.

I wasn't a big Inferno fan as a kid. Not of the toy or the cartoon version. Now having the toy I see some upsides. I like how the fists or weapons can be shot out of his arms. I pose mine in the base command part of one of my 3 Powermaster Optimus Primes (the original G1 version). He is nice to add to a collection. I like his ladder in firetruck mode and I like his weapons in robot mode.

Wow they just keep getting bigger and better. Inferno was truly one of the best toys in the line. the big bad fire chief who was with red alert an aweful lot but was not as annoying as red alert. i agree with one of my fellow reviewers where is SOUNDWAVE AND HIS CASSETES. bigger than most of the cars in the line. transforms nice and smooth. alternate mode besides robot is a fire truck. made of plastic instead of metal. but plastic is just as good. comes with three missles that goes into 1 arm but does not fire. two fins for robot mode two fists but only need one and a gun.highly recomended for purchase goes great with all of the others in this re issue collection.

When Generation 2 came out in 1992, I was blessed with this wonderful Season Two Autobot for my 13th birthday. The only other Transformers I had were Shockwave, Scattershot(Technobot), the Constructicons, and Ramjet from the mid '80's. Later in the '90's I bought a few Beast Wars and just recently threw them in the garbage after I purchased the G1 Original Series Transformer reissues. Armada, Robots in Disquise, Beast Wars/Machines, Machine Wars are all trash bots that are nothing but garbage built by yuppies that want to make a nickel by building something that appeals to 3 year olds only. I haven't gone a single day without handling my G2 Inferno, and its in great condition. By the way Toys 'R' Us, what happened to the new Optimus and Starscream G1 toys you had. They vanished into psycho-rich-liberal-bonehead 30-year old collectors whom buy 8 or 9 until there fully satisfied. That pisses me off! All I want is one each, but you have none. Where is Soundwave you idiots!
