This review is from: Yellow Boohbah Dancing Humbah (Toy)
My daughter had been fascinated with this toy since she was 11 months old, so I would say this is very good toy for toddler's beginning with 12 months not 24. As a matter of fact Boohbah became one of her first words. Now 2 months later, she is still fascinated with it and this is one of the few toys she runs to first thing in the morning, even from the other room where she can't see it (the reason we know she runs to this one because she can say it!
The Boohbah itself didn't impress me that much when I first saw it at local KBToys, the only reason I bought it, I found it much cheaper on ebay, and my baby was already enjoying watching "boohbahs" on tv, so I gave it a try. So far, I am happy I did. I agree there is little educational value in it, except learning to move as shown, but toys are for babies' fascination not just for education and also to be played with, and this toy fullfills it's purpose. Our little one can play with it up to 15-20 minutes at a time, several times a day. I think it is enough to make it worth trying. Also it is very durable, it was kicked, thrown and hit numerous times, and I was afraid that moving mechanims would break; they still work fine. Boohbah dances - my baby claps her hands and shakes her torso and head. There is no explanation, but some adults in our family like this too :-) It's just plain entertaining fun!!!

If your toddler watches the Boobah series, this toy will thrill him or her. The doll is identical to the costumed character with soft sparkly fur.
My 2 year old loves her weirdo purple energy ball and squealed--her eyes popped open with delight--when I brought it home. It's now one of her sleep buddies. She thinks he's alive when he moves. At first she was afraid of it (so was I--looks like an alien), the way it's head sort of retracts and pops out and spins. Then she started to imitate its motions and repeat the Boobah chant and tries to feed him. True, the musical bits are a bit short (only instrumental) but now she's learned to press his foot (and hand) to hear more. She's grown quite attached and sympathetic to the purple monster and asks "okay Boobah?" if he falls on his face while doing one of his head turns while standing on the bed. I was very pleased at her response to this seemingly silly toy. I think small children relating to stuffed toys that move and gesture helps them practice their social skills.

Hilarious, hilarious toy. My five-year-old and one-year-old compete for time with Humbah. The little one drags it around, and the older one sleeps with it next to her bed. We all like the Boohbah music, though I do wish the little songs and dances were longer. However, I bought this toy new in the box at Goodwill for $5.99 so I can't complain.
