Product Description

Editorial Review

The name Gustav seems more appropriate for a Lutheran pastor than a mechanical insect, but despite his moniker, this specimen is pretty impressive. Resembling an enormous robotic potato bug, Gustav sports red plated armor that covers his body. After you follow the detailed assembly instructions, the bug is ready to roll and one AA battery (not included) allows him to walk. Besides Gustav himself, the set includes two mobile platforms, complete with four additional, smaller Zoid figures. When you see the relatively tiny size of these other Zoids, you understand the scale of Gustav in the Zoid universe where, the packaging promises, he weighs 68 tons. In real life, he weighs considerably less and is about the size of a small guinea pig. --Charlie Williams

5.0 out of 5 stars Moonbays Gustav, February 16, 2003
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Zoids Deluxe: Gustav (#025) (Toy)
The Gustav was my 11th zoid and its one of my favorites. The Gustav is very durable. It fell down my stairs and nothing even fell off. It comes with two trailers and tiny figures of Van, Fiona, Moonbay, and Zeek. The two trailers hook up to the back off it and can hold one large zoid like a liger or two small zoids. They have tiny posable plastic arms that hold the Zoid. The Trailers come off easy though and the cockpit is a bit hard to open but its fairly hard to build and moves longer, better, and straighter than any zoid i have. The Gustav is a must have to any serious zoid collecter.

5.0 out of 5 stars RZ-025 Gustav, August 25, 2003
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Zoids Deluxe: Gustav (#025) (Toy)
The Gustav is basically the trailer of the zoids world. It has no fighting equipment, and it's only strong point is it's amazingly thick armor.

For those of you who like cockroaches, try this model. Although I don't know how many cockroach fans there are out there. Most people just get the Gustav to pull their other zoids around on the trailers (which is actually a very entertaining thing to do if you're bored).

However, that's not because there's anything wrong with the zoid. Even for zoids (which are often quite durable and solidly built), the Gustav is solid and sturdy. It's fairly easy to build, too. If you're good at building things in general, you could even try this as a first model... but I wouldn't reccomend it. First-time builders are better off with smaller kits.

And to top if off, the model comes with unpainted figures of Moonbay (duh), Van, Fiona, and Zeke. The mini figures are exclusive to pilot-specials (Geno Breaker, Gustav, Command Wolf IS, ect.).

Overall, the Gustav is a strong, durable little bug. And the trailers and figures are a nice bonus...

4.0 out of 5 stars The Gustav Model, September 25, 2004
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Zoids Deluxe: Gustav (#025) (Toy)
When i first got this zoid i liked it. I still like it but all it does is pull a zoid ( One Big like a liger or a 2 small like nightwise size). This zoid is motorized uses 1 aa battery and can pul a zoid on carpet wood and tile. It is farely easy to build and took me about 20 minutes. This toy comes with some of the people of the zoid show (chaotic centry). This zoid is entertaining when it has a zoid on its hitch (wich you can take off). But over all i would say its a good toy and you should like it if you like zoids.
