5.0 out of 5 stars Moonbays Gustav, February 16, 2003
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Zoids Deluxe: Gustav (#025) (Toy)
The Gustav was my 11th zoid and its one of my favorites. The Gustav is very durable. It fell down my stairs and nothing even fell off. It comes with two trailers and tiny figures of Van, Fiona, Moonbay, and Zeek. The two trailers hook up to the back off it and can hold one large zoid like a liger or two small zoids. They have tiny posable plastic arms that hold the Zoid. The Trailers come off easy though and the cockpit is a bit hard to open but its fairly hard to build and moves longer, better, and straighter than any zoid i have. The Gustav is a must have to any serious zoid collecter.

5.0 out of 5 stars RZ-025 Gustav, August 25, 2003
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Zoids Deluxe: Gustav (#025) (Toy)
The Gustav is basically the trailer of the zoids world. It has no fighting equipment, and it's only strong point is it's amazingly thick armor.

For those of you who like cockroaches, try this model. Although I don't know how many cockroach fans there are out there. Most people just get the Gustav to pull their other zoids around on the trailers (which is actually a very entertaining thing to do if you're bored).

However, that's not because there's anything wrong with the zoid. Even for zoids (which are often quite durable and solidly built), the Gustav is solid and sturdy. It's fairly easy to build, too. If you're good at building things in general, you could even try this as a first model... but I wouldn't reccomend it. First-time builders are better off with smaller kits.

And to top if off, the model comes with unpainted figures of Moonbay (duh), Van, Fiona, and Zeke. The mini figures are exclusive to pilot-specials (Geno Breaker, Gustav, Command Wolf IS, ect.).

Overall, the Gustav is a strong, durable little bug. And the trailers and figures are a nice bonus...

4.0 out of 5 stars The Gustav Model, September 25, 2004
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Zoids Deluxe: Gustav (#025) (Toy)
When i first got this zoid i liked it. I still like it but all it does is pull a zoid ( One Big like a liger or a 2 small like nightwise size). This zoid is motorized uses 1 aa battery and can pul a zoid on carpet wood and tile. It is farely easy to build and took me about 20 minutes. This toy comes with some of the people of the zoid show (chaotic centry). This zoid is entertaining when it has a zoid on its hitch (wich you can take off). But over all i would say its a good toy and you should like it if you like zoids.

4.0 out of 5 stars Battlefield set up! Battle mode 0982, ready, fight!, June 2, 2003

= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Zoids Deluxe: Gustav (#025) (Toy)
The Gustav is quite an amazing little Zoid. While it has an unusual design and looks simple, the shell mechanics prove to be fairly complex and offer a decent challenge. While this Zoid is slow and only runs on 1X AA battery, it has great power. It can easily tow a Gojulas with little trouble.

It's interesting to see the shell undulating as the Gustav slowly creeps across the floor, it's truly a unique figure in the world of Zoids as it relies on a relay center to transmit movement from one half of the shell to the other.

However, the trailers are way too short. On the show they're twice as long as the real ones, so checking auctions for spare beds might be necessary if you're into dioramas.

The one thing I don't like about the Gustav is its color pattern. If you're a collector, get three. Keep one the original color scheme, paint one green with a gray shell to look like the original, and paint one green with a white shell to look like the medical type Gustav.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well, it is a great Zoid! ^_^, June 13, 2004

Okay, this Zoid is da bomb! First, the zoid is kinda complicated when it comes down to when you have to assemble it's armor. But, that is the only difficult part on building it. I gave it 5 stars on eductional value because ALL zoids teaches contructional skills, and you learn how to put models together! I gave it 5 stars on fun because it comes with two transport platforms that comes with items to put on them. The platforms are not really the large size in the animie but you can put a large zoid on them or two small zoids on them;). I gave 5 stars on duralbility because it really dosent have anything to fall of it. And so far, no breakage!. Oh yeah, it comes with a Van pilot standing , a Moonbay pilot standing and sitting, Fiona standing, and a Zeke figure standing;) Note that they all are unpainted tho:( Oh yeah, when turned on, the Zoid rolls across the floor at a medium speed. Even with a large Zoid on the platforms it tows, it still seems to move at the same constant speed. Once I stacked up two of my other Zoids and it still kept moving well. and, as a bonus, if you turn the platforms right and the Gustav right, it will even turn with the Zoid still on the platform! Oh yeah, all the stuff before this sentence explains why I gave it a 5 on fun! I hope you found this helpful ^_^

This zoid is cool. it goes slow but no matter what you put on it back trailers it will go the same speed. This zoids is rather small, there was no problems in building it for me. It took me about half an hour. I recommend this to all ages

This review is from: Zoids Deluxe: Gustav (#025) (Toy)
Zoid were first created in the 1980s and made a comeback in the late 1990s and early 2000s. They are best described as monstrous combat machines in the guise of animals, dinosaurs, or insects. They are represented here in toy form as motorized (windup or battery powered) scale models that you assemble yourself.

As Zoids go, Gustav is not the most interesting one. It has no guns, no legs, and moves about using hidden wheels. It is unique in that the armor panels that make up the shell expand and contract when the Zoid is moving, along with the rotating radar and waving antenna. It also has two trailers to carry other Zoids, and a variety of cranes, work platforms, and other "support equipment".

It's a fun toy. Many "Zoiders" not only assemble these toys, but "kitbash" them into entirely different creations.

Too bad these are no longer in production, the current prices reflect the current rarity of this line of toys.

A MUST HAVE!! It is a really cool Zoid that has two crate holders and crains and such on the platforms. Actual Zoids can fit on it. It comes with a standing Moonbay (and sitting <for the cockpit>) a Van, Zeke, a Fiaona and some pilot guy that you get in all other Zoids models. The shell really moves up and down when it moves(like in the show). It is motorized. Excellent deal!!!

I know I don't have the Zoid yet but I know I know those reviews get annoy but I just want to say that you should buy this Zoid here and now because rather than paying almost 30 bucks for it why not save at least 75% on it and get it for 10 here so then you save your self a bit of money and hasle. Thank you for your time. Happy Shopping :D

Gustav is so awesome with the two trailers so you can haul around you Zoids to battle! I like how it comes with van, Fiona, Zeke, and Moonbay figures.
