The Book For This Centurey and The Next:,
This review is from: Hashish (Paperback)
There are three books i carry with me no matter where i go... (1)'Marijuana Growers Guide Delux Edtion'by Mel Frank (2)'Marijuana Botany' by Robert Connell Clarke and now (3)Hashish by Robert Connell Clarke...Who else but Bob Clarke could write such a book many have tried but non have come anywhere close than Bob Clarke, its been along time coming, i had been waiting some 2 years for this book when i heard about it through Hightimes and when i finally got my hands on a copy i read it from cover to cover and back again; this book will carry you from marijuana to hash making and make you wonder why you ever smoked cannabis for so long and not hash. There are some books that will not only see us from this century (2000) but also into the next (3000)and along with Mel Frank's 'Marijuana growers guide' (insider's and the delux edition) Robert Connell Clarke's 'Marijuana Botany' and Ed Rosenthals 'Marijuana Greenhouse guide' just to name few of the books that will survive no matter how far we travel in the future, do yourself a favour if you want to know how to make hash and do it right this is the book for you, but hey just don't take my word for it listen to what Mel Frank himself had to say, it is writen on the back cover of this book... "Everything i know about hash i learnt from Bob Clarke" Mel Frank...What more can be said than that, except to say thank you Bob Clarke you have changed my life... Redroo@start.com.au...

Incredibly interesting and beautifully presented,

This review is from: Hashish (Paperback)
There's so much great information here for marijuana smokers and growers, and medicinal users, it's hard to be brief. Clarke explains why highs are different, devices that produce healthier smoking techniques, when to harvest for potency, etc. Hashish making is fully explained worldwide, and then he improves on those techniques, even showing how you can make it at home, very simply. Loads of beautiful color photos. It's also surprizing and fun to read with great cartoons that dispel a lot of marijuana myths. It's easily the best book on marijuana/hashish since Frank and Rosenthal's Grower's Guide Deluxe.

The Only hash book but what a hash book!,
By Grass (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hashish (Paperback)
Hashish is the ultimate hash companion. It covers everything that you need to know about hashish except for good home extraction methods. Hashish is a text book on the subject. It covers the basics of marijuana with respect to the world we live in today and then hurtles into the origins of hashish, mapping it out around the world. There is lots of interesting information to read here especially about cannabis plant researchers and early hashish writers. Lots of folk tales with illustrations. The book is well researched! The second half of the book after the splendid color section - WOW! is about the different grades of hashish, how it is made and how it works on the body. There are lots of charts and illustrations which cover almost every section of the book. There is a huge table at the back which even covers what types of hashish have been busted around the world with descriptions of the hashish. It really is that deep. So how does it pan out overall. Well I have never read this book from start to finish in one go but have referenced it well over a thousand times. It is a difficult book to read in one go and can be quite grueling at times even for cannabis enthusiasts. As a reference book it gets 5 stars but as a good read only deserves about 3 stars. This book does not lack in anything though except for one crucial thing. The hash making methods described are not really used by growers anymore. If you are looking for the best possible way to extract hashish (and the most easiest) then consult The Cannabis Grow Bible by Greg Green for water extraction. It has the best method I have ever used by far. Do not miss out on the book Hashish! by Clarke. Even though the title might sound a little tabloid-like this is the kind of book that would earn you a degree in HASHISH!

A really nice hash book,
This review is from: Hashish (Paperback)
I got two new books over christmas. This and a grow manual. I really love both of them. This is a great book about the great hashish. It is very historical with lots of hashish history. The book is really big too and can not fit on the shelf sitting upwards. It has to lie down but how bad. There is enough information to keep you going here for awhile. I really like it and if you like hash then you will like it too.

Absolutely First Rate! You Won't Regret This Purchase!!,

This review is from: Hashish (Paperback)
While certainly not infallible, this is as likely as close as any author will ever come to writing the "bible" of hashish. Dense with information and enlivened with wonderful photos and illustrations, Clarke's masterwork is both exceptionally entertainng and an invaluable reference work. I have to rate this as one of the best gifts I've ever received. First Rate!

Do not buy this book if you want to make hash!,
By ramarom "old timer" (In my Garden) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hashish (Paperback)
You know this book is great if you want to learn about hash and where it comes from and how it is smuggled around the world. It is very scientific with lots of information on the ingredients of hash, different types of hash and it's effects on the body. You get nearly 400 pages on that. This is the best Hash book on the market but...... Clarke only shows us what the hash makers want the tourists to see and the book fails to explain how we can successfully make hash for ourselves using modern techniques.Clarke gives us the "3rd world" look at how hash is made. In reality, yes these "traditional" methods do still go on and are nice to know about, but they have been replaced by newer methods at this stage in the game. So as a historical read this book is prime stuff, but in reality we need to look elsewhere for what really goes on. Most people would buy this book because they would like to get their teeth into hash making using modern techniques. There is a chapter on this, but it is not modern nor is it useful. That chapter is called "Hi-Tech hashish making" but should really be called "80's Hi-Tech but low grade hash making." The chapter will only explain how to make inferior quality hash the hard way. More up-to-date methods are not even treated. This is totally surprising, as most of these new methods are simple! And a lot cheaper to do than what his sections explain. I mean in 400 pages and you get nothing really substantial about how you should go about making hash for yourself. All he would have to do is sit down and write 10 - 20 pages on the subject of home hash making and how it is REALLY done. Then the book would deserve 5 stars.

The only hashish Book you'll ever need,
This review is from: Hashish (Paperback)
Made even better, the updated second edition of Hashish! has more of everything. It has more color photos, more text, and is easier to follow. Mel Frank and Rob Clarke (arguably the world's two most knowledgeable people on the subjects of marijuana and hashish) updated the book with additional information on water processing and vaporizing with the most up-to-date techniques and devices. They also added some exceptional photos diagramming the resin gland maturation process, which I thought was pretty exceptional.
For those who don't own the original Hashish!, this book (Encyclopedia might be a better term...) contains everything about hashish. It covers all the history and politics and medical uses as well all the many processes of making and consuming the best hash. The publisher also did a better job of organizing the book so you can very quickly find exactly what you are looking for. This is one of those books you to have. It's comparable to the Marijuana Grower's Guide Deluxe, but this has been updated to have everything they might have missed the first time around. Highly recommended... |
