Stunning Photography,

This review is from: Hasselblad Masters (Masters (teNeues)) (Hardcover)
This book is absolutely stunning! The photography is beautiful. Each and every photographer has their own unique and fascinating style. I love flipping through all the different works of art and connecting myself to each individual photographers view of "Passion." It is simply spectacular. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, daily! With love.

I was actually a bit disappointed in this one. August Bradley shot the cover image (and a series near the end of the book), and I thought they'd all be as lush and beautiful as his work. They're not (though there are some nice images within; I liked what Julia Fullerton-Batten and Kevin Then had to show, for example). If I had it to do over, I think I'd wait for a lower-priced paperback version.

I originally saw this book at the SPE convention in Philadelphia last year. I knew immediately I wanted a copy. This one was up for auction and I bid on it - I have a smartphone so I watched the price as compares to Amazon's price. The book went for 20 dollars more than Amazon's price. So I ordered one once I got home.In it you'll find editorial, fashion, portraiture, architectural, and several other styles of photography. The images are large - covering full pages or more (usually - some are a bit smaller) The book is very well constructed - its not going to fall apart on you when you browse it over and over- which you might. Overall its a nice book - worth the price if you're a photgraphy buff. Don't expect a paperback to be released - it isn't likely. Hasselblads are damn expensive cameras - great build and quality- I wouldn't expect anything else from a book that's supposed to represent the best of the best a hasselblad can offer. |
