Then the keyboard started writing its own characters, without any typing by myself. Ignazio  |  4 reviewers made a similar statement

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE this case! December 9, 2011

I liked this case so much, that even though I ordered the white by mistake - meant to order the black one - I kept it, even after the black case arrived.
These Hatch & Co. cases are the best. Slim, good-looking, with nice membrane keyboards that add no noticeable weight, and almost no thickness, to the case. I still get a little tactile feedback, and the optional "click" (there's a switch for that!) is also nice when you want it.
I use the on-screen keyboard most of the time, but pay no penalty for having the bluetooth membrane keyboard there; and then, when I want it, as when I'm typing long emails or posts, there it is!
Everyone who sees either case thinks it's great. Almost a good a purchase as the iPad itself!

1.0 out of 5 stars Frustrated....... March 9, 2012

Aside from the cosmetics part, that was not the problem. From day one this thing would not connect with my IPAD 2. I purchased this with great expectations of a product that would start as soon as I turned it on. Come to find it has a mind of its own. It connects when it wants to. Each time I close the case it would continue to making a beeping noise as if a key was being pushed down. Then when I attempt to type in the Notes, if I would stop typing it would keep typing by itself. Garbage. This keyboard has been frustrating since day one and I have only had it for about 3 weeks and I hate to use it. How can I return this item because it sucks big time. People made comments that you get what you pay for so I figured I pay for this, I was getting the best. I would have come out better just getting a keyboard from Apple.

5.0 out of 5 stars Points for style and functionailty January 6, 2012
I owned a Belkin bluetooth iPad 2 cover with keyboard before I got the SKINNY. Although I liked the feel of the Belkin keyboard, the reality was, it took up so much space and weighed so much, both in use and in transit, that it more or less turned my iPad 2 into a glorified netbook--not what I wanted from the iPad to begin with.
So when this item crossed my desk, I was thrilled to see its slim profile. But would the keyboard perform?
It took me a solid week to get used to the keyboard. Your eye sees a full keyboard--it wants to feel a real keyboard. It's a totally different experience, but well worth the time it takes to get to know the SKINNY.
There are some hiccups: The "symbol" key stays active until you touch it again, leading to some funny type if you're not careful, and the lights that tell you if the keyboard is on or if the symbol key is activated are hidden behind the iPad when you're using the keyboard. Oops.
But overall, I'm more apt to take my iPad with keyboard with me now, which is the point of the whole thing to begin with, for me. I'm happy with this item, and I think it'd make an awesome gift for someone who wants both style and functionality.
Full disclosure: The folks at Hatch and Co provided me with this item to review.

Bought this as I thought it would make a nice case for our white iPad. Packaging and the case itself looked good. Using it is another story. One word to describe it - annoying. Read more
