It's time Sloane Tannen gets recognized as one of the funniest, laugh out loud, creative authors around. Every time I mention her name someone says, "I love her books! She's a genius. I give `Bitter with Baggage' for every birthday. Every holiday!" She's the kind of author who makes you feel hipper and better about yourself just for knowing who she is.
With this book, she's taken on what could have been the worn subject of motherhood, but of course, in her hands, it's gold. She is fresh, funny,
and I can't imagine a better, more appreciated gift for a new mother or any mother. Run don't walk. And enjoy.

I LOVE this hysterical book. It is the perfect baby shower/new baby/mother's day gift. It is laugh out loud funny. Sloane Tanen takes birth and motherhood and turns it inside out. She is brilliant, creative, edgy and honest. This book is a joy from cover to cover. Buy it, share it. It is the hippest thing you can own.

Sloane Tanen takes what new mother has secretly thought/felt and puts it out in the world in an honest, hysterical, laugh out loud way. I absolutely adore this book and am giving it to every mother I know this year.

I'm a slave to the chickens! I don't know how she does it, but Tanen keeps the chickens fresh and engaging--smart little hens that they are. My friend's daughter is so hooked on the CoCo books that she's insisting on an exact rendition of CoCo's birthday party from All Year Round. If you're going to buy this book as a shower gift, you'll also want to know about the new CoCo board books for counting and ABC's, they're cheep (I couldn't help it) and gorgeous and perfect!

I love this book. I just can't stop giggling. I've now stockpiled several for whenever I hear of a new pregnancy or delivery.

I bought HATCHED for my pregnant friend, to be read together with her five-year-old. But the story is so adorable, I ended up buying one for myself to keep. It reminds me of the joy of my own pregnancy 28 years ago. This is a perfect gift for expecting or new mother.

I bought this book, as I am 7 months pregnant, and i swear, it nearly drove me into early labor, it was so funny! I laughed out loud! Very cute!

I gave it to my daughter-in-law who has a 5 month old baby. It was perfect. Very funny: For instance, " I don't dare use the Baby Bjorn. What if I trip and squish the baby." There was a laugh on every page.

Tanen has the inside scoop on being pregnant and being a new parent. I've just been on this ride myself and can say, unequivocally, that she has done it again! She captures it all with biting wit and chicken charm. Warning: reading "Hatched" in the nine month has been known to induce labor.

I bought this for my sister when I found out she was expecting for the first time. This is the cutest book ever for a new mommy! Perfect for a coffee table book or for display. Very funny!
