5.0 out of 5 stars Hatchet Warrior
I have been waiting for this one ever since Blaze's album came out. I have always loved ABK's voice, as well as his lyrics. I had no clue that he had Native American roots, that makes it even cooler. The music on this album is a mixture of old school rap and rock. Most of the songs are pure hip hop. Mike P, once again, did a great job as producer. The rock songs are...

3.0 out of 5 stars Psychopathic abused and lost some great talent
One thing I couldn't really stand about psy records is that Violent J puts heavy influence on every debut that is released. I like rap albums that are the rapper alone, without hooks from other artists. Violent J loves doing hooks. With that said, the album does have numerous guest appearances, but it is mostly Anybody Killa. The album is laced with clips from the...

The rock songs are great. "Hated Me" is an extremely powerful track. Also, the cover of the Eagles' song, "In The City" is excellent. ABK can sing! He still lays it down as a Psychopathic rapper though. There are guest appearances from ICP, Twiztid, Blaze, and Esham. This helps give it that unique family feel. There is also a guest appearance by the legendary rapper Paris. That is quite a nice touch. I'm just going to wrap this up by saying that this is a great release and it is very highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars suprisingly amazing!, April 9, 2003
This review is from: Hatchet Warrior (Audio CD)
i have heard anybody killa on other prejects such as dark lotus, blaze ya dead homie, and other various projects and i really didnt think his flows where all that great but this album proved that he has some bomb-... talent! here is a run down of how i rate each track.
1.intro (3/10) not a very good intro but its ok cause it fits abk's native background

2.close call (6/10) getting better he is still getting into the album with this one. just a short track

3.kill me (7/10) pretty good lyrics, great beats, ok courus but an overal decent song.

4.sticky icky situations (10/10) great track! awsome flows and wicked courus. plus the song has violent J and he makes any song a 10. esham and blaze are also on the track so thats good too.

5.your neden's haunted (9/10) mean ... flows, cool courus, and funny ... hell. plus a little bit of the icp clasic bugz on my nutz.

6.ghetto neighbor (9/10) decent flows, very good courus, monoxide. nuff said.

7.come out to play (8/10) very catchy beat, flows very well with the beats. violent J sings the courus so dont ask if its good. madrox. once again nuff said. if you dont know who monoxide and madrox are stop reading, go listen to some feminem and wack your pud to one of his posters

8.hated me (10/10) wicked lyrics, excelent production, amazing courus. wont let you down

9.tools (7/10) very good over all. blaze does the courus and a verse so thats cool.

10.while you're sleeping (8/10) a bit of a slower song. but makes a perfect transition on the cd and adds some depth to it.

11.hollow point (10/10) f'n awsome track, wicked intro, wicked beats, and wicked flows. my favorite song by abk before the album was released.

12.if you don't know (7/10) ok song but shaggy should have a longer part. he is on it though so thats cool.

13.foo dang (6/10) the song is ok. i was never much of a fan of the track when it was first released but it is kind of catchy.

14.gang related (10/10) the lyrics are great to really listen too, really good production, and what makes it a 10...violent J pulls off some of his best lyrics i've heard in awhile.

15.in the city (10/10) very good guitars, abk kind of sings on this song and he does a pretty good job at it suprisingly. perfect ending to an excellent album

This album is really good. It took me a while to get used to it, but once I did, i really liked this album. Some of my favourite songs are "Kill Me", "Hated Me", "If You Don't Know" & "Gang Related". I recommend this to all juggalos, but i recommend that you buy a Dark Lotus album before you buy an ABK solo album to get a bit of a taste of ABK's style, because alot of people seem to dislike ABK's style.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hatchets Swinging, April 11, 2003

I must say this is a solid effort from this Native representing Psychopatic. The beats are mostly original and the low end will lift you out of your seat. And who would ever think that Linda Rondstat's old back up band would have writing credits? That's right, The Eagles get covered by the lisped one. It helps to be a fan of the clowns but lately I've been diggin' their buddies (ABK, Blaze, Twiztid) much more. Maybe these guys are a bit more serious and using the clowns as a platform because it's hard to deny, the clowns have laid one impressive fan foundation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Album, Nice Start ABK, April 12, 2003

Great album, I love all the tracks and many juggalos may not notice this but the last song "in the city" was a redone off of a 70's song by the Eagles in which lyrics were remade. I find that sweet as, wee all u juggalos know what I am talking about. Anyway nice album ABK, I love your style and everything about this CD. Also to add having Esham in there was a total plus also everyone else on the PSY crew, were a family right.

WAY TO GO ABK!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Long overdue, April 8, 2003

Anybody Killa is more than just a Psychopathic artist. He's been around for a while, as part of 2 Krazie Devils and also under the name Native Funk, and the time he's spent prior to joining Psychopathic has served him well. "Rain from the Sun" was great, but his style and unique delivery really shine on "Hatchet Warrior."

A lot of people will dismiss ABK just based on his label he's on. Those people will be missing out on one of the most original sounding artists out there. The production on the cd is top-notch and includes guests such as Zug Izland, ICP, Twiztid, Blaze ya Dead Homie, and Esham. THe best songs are "Yo Neden's Haunted" "Tools" "While You're Sleeping" and "Foo-dang" although the entire cd is amazing. Not a bad song on it.

ABK "Hatchet Warrior" is long overdue. Many people have been waiting for this for years (myself included). Thankfully, "Hatchet Warrior" was worth the wait.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Juggalo Flava!, April 9, 2003

This review is from: Hatchet Warrior (Audio CD)
ABK totally tears it up in this album! He is probabaly the best rapper in the Psychopathic family. The best thing is that the album is not watered down at all. Mike P did a great job on the production of this one. I think it is a much better product than the Blaze album. The guest appearances include some of the best lyrics to date from everybody. But they are not on every track so you really get a feel for what ABK is capable of. The best ones are from Esham. I am really excited to see what Esham has to offer in the future. The best tracks are Ghetto Neighbor, Hated me, Come out to play, While you were sleeping, and Gang related. It is great I hope you like it as much as I do!
