Bomberos are one of the very few bands calling themselves punk in today's stale rock environment that do so with an actual sense of poignancy, something their newborn second effort 'Hate' so ruthlessly hammers forth. And hate they do. With a no-holds-barred intensity in their hyper-infectious riffage, the hateful yet tongue-in cheek "redneck-Biaffraness" of the vocals and the metallic pounding drums, Bomberos prove that you can have brutal, to the point and catchy-as-hell songs without losing one iota of the punk rock aesthetic. For a band this simple in structure they have a surprisingly healthy list of inspirations. Vocalist Kristiansen (aka Maniac of Mayhem) states Jesse James, Johnny Burnette Trio and Charlie Feathers as vocal inspiration although there's no denying Dead Kennedys has had a certain influence too. Main songwriter Hinkel draws inspiration from Nine Pound Hammer, Misfits, Poison Id ea and a vast amount of rock and metal, whilst rhythm section Weibull (bass) and Beinha rd (drums) have their very own anger therapy session going. In short, there's no avoiding 'Hate' if you think you like filthy raw punk, hardcore, rock or metal. Duplicate. 2006
