4.0 out of 5 stars Actually about the CD unlike the first review, December 20, 2007
This review is from: Hate It Or Love It (Audio CD)
This is definitely Chingy's best album since his debut album and is as good if not better than that one. The only issue I have is that is only has 12 actual tracks (+2 skits).

1. Intro

2. 9/10 Probably Chingy's hardest song to date. He actually has some decent lyrics in this song and the beat is bangin.

3. 7/10 Decent song and a song with kickin bass. Not a bad song but not a great one either. Definitely listenable though.

4. 6/10 Reminds me of the song One Call Away. Not a memorable song but decent for the ladies I guess.

5. 9/10 Sick beat on this track! One of the better songs on the CD and probably gonna be a club banger.

6. 7/10 Kind of a catchy song. Not one of my favorites but any song with Luda is listenable.

7. 10/10(Verses) 6/10(Hook) I give this song 2 ratings because the beat for the verses are hot and will def be bumpin in the clubs but the chorus is very repetitive and kind of annoying after a while. Luckily there are 3 verses, too bad the hook wasn't as hot as them.

8. Skit

9. 8.5/10 I'm not a big fan of trey songz but this song is a good song. Catchy beat with a decent hook and verses makes an above average song.

10. 9.5/10 Another club banger with another sick beat.

11. 7/10 A tribute to the women in Chingy's life. Decent beat but the "lovely ladies" in the background gets kind of annoying.

12. 7.5/10 Really the only "slow" song on the CD but is not bad at all. A nice change up to all the bangers and a real chill track.

13. 8.5/10 The first single to the CD. The hook is average as its only "Roll On Em Roll" over and over but the verses are tight and nice collabo with Rick Ross. Nice beat too.

14. 10/10 Probably my favorite track of the CD and a song that makes this CD end with a bang. Another hot beat by Ghost Writers and decent lyrics from Chingy.

Overall 8.5/10

As you can see if you are looking for a CD to bump some bass and get hype this is definitely that CD. One of the better club banger CD's this year. The production is great and Chingy actually adds to it with decent lyrics which surprised me (don't get me wrong there are some very average lyrics on this CD but not bad for Chingy). I wish Luda was on here more after Chingy signed back with DTP and a couple more songs wouldn't have hurt but overall a good CD. The title says it all though, you will either hate it or love it and I love it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Still hurrrrrr hu!, January 17, 2008
This review is from: Hate It Or Love It (Audio CD)
I can't belelieve ching a ling is still around. This is not the hip hop is dead era, no my friend we are in the rap comedy years look at this list of talent this guy, soulja boy, shawty lo, mike jones, d4l, plies, unk the n!@@a calls himself unk, dj kaled mr. we da bes, dipset as click, record label and a mfn crew, thats enough naming these fool. I did not capitalize names on purpose. I'm guessing luda signed this dude because he figured he was cute enough to sell some cd's to chicks. He is a chick rapper just like nelly and bow wow. But, they have a better track record. I didn't say better they have just sold more cd's than cuz. In this era of rap where in no wonder lil wayne seems like the best rapper alive. I like wayne but he is wearing a little thin on me. I peeped his whole style as LL said on his Mr. Smith album he is a metaphore freak. For example I stay on track like a pair of pummas, and I'm not on cruise control I control the cruise. Yeah he spits fire but it usually involves some metaphore which always goes back to how great he thinks he is or how much money he has blah, blah, blah heard it before wayne. Anyway I didn't really review this album more like vented on the sorry state of rap. I'm sure you have heard this befor but Lupfiascos album is fire and so is Chammilinairs go by those if you want something new with quality. Peace

2.0 out of 5 stars At Least He Got The First Two Words of His Title Right!, January 19, 2008
This review is from: Hate It Or Love It (Audio CD)
When I first heard the news that Chingy was back in the fold with Ludacris and Disturbing Tha Peace, I was genuinely happy that he came to his senses and realized that he needed them in order to have a chance at relevancy in Hip-Hop. Then I heard "Fly Like Me." Sure, he has Amerie on the track to lighten up the mood, but Chingy's lyrics and the production was suddenly suspect. Then I heard the rest of the songs on Hate It Or Love It. And I can easily tell you that nobody's gonna love this one. The beat for the title track sounds like Swizz Beatz's 13-year-old nephew recorded it on the Korg Triton Extreme 61 Music Synthesizer Keyboard that his uncle bought him for his birthday. Sound ridiculous? So does Chingy on this album. He resorts to the voice of a 70's pimp for his verses on "Check My Swag." "Kick Drum" has to be the second song recorded by Swizz Beatz's nephew with his first of many songwriting credits as evidenced by Chingy's kindergarten rap lyrics. Even Ludacris and Bobby Valentino can't save this sinking ship with their assistance on "Gimme Dat," with even more perplexing chords and downright annoying licks from Chingy. Things go from bad to worst on "All Aboard" featuring Steph Jones, a song that sounds like a jumbled mess to say the least. Trey Songz collected an easy paycheck for "Spend Some $," especially since his chorus is about the only good thing about the track. Chingy tries his hand at the 'hyphy' sound with "2 Kool 2 Dance," oddly one of the only decent offerings on the entire project. Once again, the beat and chorus do more harm than good on the otherwise okay track "Lovely Ladies." "How We Feel" is the album standout, all thanks to R&B soul singer Anthony Hamilton providing a decent chorus (an obvious rarity on this album!). "Roll On 'Em" is a hard-hitting cut featuring Rick Ross that holds its own, while "Blockstar" closes out the album on a horrible note...rather....a couple of horrible musical notes. Despite having major industry help from both the Hip-Hop and R&B world, Hate It Or Love It ultimately turned out to be an ill-fated project that suffered from preposterous production and moronic lyrics by Chingy. And to think...he originally left DTP because he thought he would be better off!
