Insufferabe -- One Star Because I Could Not Give It Zero,
By
This review is from: I Hate Kansas State: 303 Reasons Why You Should, Too (Paperback)
I found this in a local bookstore. Needless to say I would not spend a dime on it, but had to look through it. As a graduate of Kansas State University (M.S., 1978) I have to say that any publisher who would entertain such a worthless diatribe on ANY institution of higher education -- yes, even K.U. or Mizzou -- is as much an idiot as the author. Kansas State, particularly in the past twenty years, has become a distinguished public university in terms of the number of Truman, Wilson, etc. scholars (rivaling Stanford, Duke, and the Ivy League). It's debate teams have been nationally ranked. It's football program and women's athletics have gone from dismal to highly competitive, indeed respected. The university has made a profound investment in its educational and athletic facilties. Certainly Manhattan, Kansas is not a mecca of urban riches; nevertheless, it is an outstanding college town and a fine community. If you're in to bashing rather than building, waste your money on this book. Otherwise, donate it to the educational institution of your choice.

TERRIBLE--Dont waste your money!,
This review is from: I Hate Kansas State: 303 Reasons Why You Should, Too (Paperback)
As a KSU grad I find it amazing that someone would waste money on this book. After viewing it at a book store, I flipped through it and was amazed at such stupidity. Please, instead of wasting your money, donate the money to the University of your choice.

Didn't buy it but I picked it up and flipped through it.,
This review is from: I Hate Kansas State: 303 Reasons Why You Should, Too (Paperback)
Wasted my time on picking this up. However, it does make you wonder if you could be a writer and make money writing about the top ten reasons not to get a job. This is just another example of bad writing making money. It is all about the allure of the title. If you tick a few people off you have a winner. Heck it is a parody what else can we expect. For just being about KSU it is not. This guy wrote 303 things I hate about KU, Michigan, Georgia, Kentucky, and even Notre Dame...just to name a few.

Has he got your... wildcat?,

This review is from: I Hate Kansas State: 303 Reasons Why You Should, Too (Paperback)
I think this author is brilliant - Why you ask? Because, he's gotten what he wanted... you to read and discuss his book. Whether or not you hate or like the topic - that is beside the point... The POINT IS, an author wants you to read his book and talk to your friends, to your next door neighbor, and even complain to your cat about his book. This author apparently can get people to talk passionately, and whenever that happens, it's probably worth a read...

Review, Anyone?,
By
This review is from: I Hate Kansas State: 303 Reasons Why You Should, Too (Paperback)
I would really appreciate it if someone would write an actual review of this book instead of bashing other colleges or promoting KSU. It's amazing how such a pathetically titled book generated such juvenile responses. What are the main points? Is it truly humorous or just a tirade? Any reviews actually responding to the book and not airing personal allegiances would be greatly welcomed.

What's wrong with K-State?,
By Leslie (Liberal, KS) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Hate Kansas State: 303 Reasons Why You Should, Too (Paperback)
I don't understand why this guy doesn't like K-State at all. I am only a Junior in High School, but I hope to go to K-State once I graduate. I've only heard good things about the school, and they're ranked, I think, 7th in the U.S. with Yale, Harvard, Stanton, etc. I plan on being a Wildcat some day, and I sure didn't like what this guy had to say about them.

This guy doesn't know what the heck he is talking about. K-State is a great university and where I hope to attend school. I bet he is a freaking rock chalk CHICKENHAWK fan. By the way, I would rate this book, but there is no negative number on here.

303 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Buy This Book,
By Russell C. Eberhart (Indianapolis, Indiana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Hate Kansas State: 303 Reasons Why You Should, Too (Paperback)
I can't imagine why anyone in their right mind would write a book like this unless they flunked out of Kansas State or are sickeningly addicted to the University of Kansas. I highly recommend Kansas State University (I am an Alumnus), and I suggest that you avoid this book.

Where are the negative numbers for this rating???!!!!!!,

You've got to be kidding me! Who in their right mind would pay to have this book written. The author should go back to the writing style to which he is best suited: marquees of fast food restaraunts! What a bad concept. Save your money, don't buy this book. If you feel the need to waste money, buy a ticket to a KU football game. Now there's quality entertainment! Plenty of elbow room in those stands to enjoy your Chalupa!
