.....and couldn't help but order this cd anyway. Already heard most the tracks on this cd, and I fail to see the racism in them. The ones featuring imitations of known racist Al Sharpton were pretty priceless, they not only got his voice but also his mentality and maturity level (or rather lack of) down pat. The first time I ever heard of ridiculing a known racist to be racism......I always thought of ridicule as a means to discredit racists. The only other criticisms about these tracks being mean is that the butts of these parodies always bring that ridicule down on themselves. John Edwards in "I Am Woman" is a scream, "The Justice Brothers" is a humorous look at the readiness of Sharpton and shake-down artist Jackson to exploit any racial element for their own grandizement, "Wright Place, Wrong Pastor" and the skits of "Obama Apology" are humorous reminders that one doesn't need to be white and wear a tipi hood to be a racist, and "Love Client #9" gives the roasting that known Communist Eliot Spitzer was in bad need of. All in all, if you're tired of hearing the Left keep telling you over and over again "U Can't Say That", then this is the cd for you.

In looking at the reviews that just say "Racist! Racist!" I also considered the source. Hearing accusations of racism from the same side of the political spectrum that brought us such examples of love and harmony as Sharpton, Nifong, the New Black Panther Party, and Duke University's own Group of 88 all scream to me "must buy" for this cd.

As always, I am a fan of parody music such as Shanklin and Cledus T. Judd. Shanklin's tracks are my favorite part of Rush's show.

Paul Shanklin saw an opportunity and in AMERICA you seize an opportunities. Regarding the "magic" song, he saw two liberals --- Al Sharpton and David Ehrenstein bringing Obama down with their hateful / shameful criticisms and molded it into a song. A song that (when knowing the political stances of Al Sharpton and David Ehrenstein back in March / April 2007) is a parody. It is funny to have liberals fighting with each other or for that matter republicans fighting other republicans. If you fast forward to today, its not that funny BUT you need to know the CONTEXT in which this was created and that it is not racist in any way. It was entertaining 18 months ago....now its just packaged into a 41 track CD to make money (something people do in AMERICA).

I own all the other Paul Shanklin CDs, and to me this one is absolutely average. There's some classic stuff in here, like the famous (or infamous) "Barack the Magic Negro" (and yes, I saw the original article by David Ehrenstein in the LA Times before this parody was created), and the less famous but still very dead-on stuff like, "I Can Talk Like a Cola Miner's Daughter" (shouldn't it be "Coal"?), "Where Have All the Conservatives Gone?" (with some real vocal talent there), and the one I couldn't get enough of, "U Can't Say That".

But there's a lot of other stuff here that's sort of funny to me once, but only once. Of course, how funny this is to you depends on what issues resonate with you.

Finally, this whole habit some have of screaming or writing "racist" whenever they disagree is becoming as old as the Puritan screaming "witch" in the 17th century. Hearing or reading liberals do this reminds me of the squid squirting ink. It's a cover used to escape that which they don't want to face, which is satirical criticism of public figures of a certain ideology. We have the right to be ideologues in this country, and to propagate our ideologies, and the right to criticise those we disagree with. This is just an example of someone doing what they have a right to do.

My sides still hurt from laughing at this terrific cd. Comedy and the truth at the same time. Rare. Obama is pinned like a beetle in the bio lab. Sharpton is a DEAD-ON parody. Al Gore is shown for the boob-like phony he really is. McCain is the cruelest joke fed to America. Q:When was the last time 2 Democrats ran for president against each other? A:2008!
Even Jesse Jackson is funny. Can I say it? Go ahead. Cracker!
