4.0 out of 5 stars Overall a great music game November 26, 2012

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Since I have played all the previous hatsune games, I am comparing this title with the others.
The graphics are sigficantly improved over the psp versions, however they are a little foggy (not sharp).
The song selection is good (all new songs) but it would be much better if this game keeps some of the greatest songs from earlier hatsune miku games.
Control is not as good as psp versions, due to the smaller buttons of psvita.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Game! May 11, 2013

I got my shipment pretty fast and the game was in great condition. It's so much fun to play, it's hard to put it down. Even though it's all in Japanese, it's pretty easy to navigate around it.

The game is pretty easy to navagiate around, but I get confuse sometimes since I can't read Japanese, but overall the game is really nice, and addictive. XD. The game also came in a bubble wrap envelope.

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome game January 24, 2013
Verified Purchase
I was disappointing about how ps vita has not enough interesting software to play.
wonder no more, this game is by far the best game in vita.

pros: variety of songs, some features girls might like (changing costume, virtual live concert, etc)
cons: stiff learning curve(difference between easy-normal-hard-extreme is big), If u don't like vocaloid's voice, don't buy it

5.0 out of 5 stars Even more enjoyable than I thought it could be! November 15, 2013

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
A great buy! Shipping was fast. Item was shipped after a day and arrived after about two weeks, not to mention a whole two weeks before the earliest estimated arrival date!

The game is a lot of fun! Easy to learn; hard to master. There is a significant jump in gameplay difficulty between difficulty modes instead of a gradual increase. Don't get me wrong though; it's a good thing! It means the challenge just gets harder! You'll need some really fast thumbs for some of the songs in Extreme.

The price is a little higher than what I'm used to paying for a game, but once again: I'm not complaining. Japan typically has higher prices on media products, plus there is the import fee to cover shipping and what not. The seller has to make money somehow, so try not to be upset with the price. If the price was that big of a deal, I wouldn't have purchased it anyways. The deal that AkihabaraGames offers is much more attractive than the prices I have seen on other sites (such as JList who sells it for $100 before shipping). If you're looking to get this game, AkihabaraGames is your best bet! Sure, an English translated version is coming out on the PSN store soon, but perhaps you are like me and would prefer a physical copy (with the VR Card, might I add).

The fact that the game is in Japanese shouldn't be too much of a hindrance to anyone. I'm sure you could figure out what most of the menu buttons do just by experimenting. However, knowledge of the Japanese language, or at the very least, katakana, will help you out tremendously with navigating menus.

I half purchased this as a learning aid to supplement my studies of Japanese. What better way to passively study than with a music oriented game?

5.0 out of 5 stars Limited Hiragana/Kanji? No problem! September 20, 2013
Verified Purchase
I don't have a wide vocabulary of Hiragana, Kanji, or Katakana, so I was very relieved after checking the game out. I have been able to navigate all the menus, and even understand most of the achievements with little effort. The tutorial is very straightforward, and uses symbols, and arrows to make sure the player understands what they need to do, even if they can't read most (or any) of the text.

Game play is very good, with multiple difficulties for every song (over 30 songs, with over 80 total maps; some going into Extreme difficulty), and an interesting take on what could be a very overcomplicated genre. The game uses at least 11 different symbols for "notes" to hit, but easily summarizes these into the D-pad, the action buttons, and the touchscreen. With combinations, and how the "notes" flow on screen it took me no time to go from 1 star to 5 star-songs, and thankfully, the game didn't fall off in difficulty. Overall a great game, with many songs, and difficulties for beginners, and experts to the music/rhythm genre alike.

The only real issue is the price tag; thankfully I found a copy from another seller that was going for $55, and it came in excellent condition. Since good music/rhythm games are rare, however, I think it's still worth $75~ price tag for this game if you enjoy vocaloids, & music games.
