This review is from: Hattie B.'S Daughter (Audio CD)
Dorothy Norwood brings this beauitful and touching album of Hattie B's Daughter, it is remarkabley beautiful because of its personal touch of spirituality. I enjoyed the closeing of this album because of the alter call to those who desired to go into the ministry, and those in of need salvation, this is what ministry is all about.

"The Storm Is Almost Gone", a very moving and touching charismatic hand clapping tune brings delight and uplift to the opening of this album, "I'll Make It To The Promise Land" , and "The Lord Has Need Of Thee" are very moving songs of inspiration, all of the tracks are great ,but I especialy enjoy these selections. This is truly an uplifting album that will leave you full of joy and smiles. If you don't have this album, and you love gospel music hurry and get it! its truly a blessing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Uplifting, June 20, 2000
This review is from: Hattie B.'S Daughter (Audio CD)
I liked the song The storm is almost gone. Everytime the enemy tries to throw obstacles in my way I remember the words to that song and that reasures my faith in christ.

5.0 out of 5 stars Storm is Almost gone, June 19, 2000
This review is from: Hattie B.'S Daughter (Audio CD)
This song is a true inspiration to me. Everytime the enemy try to place a obstacle in my way I hear that song and it reminds me of who I am and whose I am, and that gives me the power to endure what the enemy has because I know that in the end the lord is working it out for my good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly A Blessing To Watch, January 26, 2002
By
Lisa M. Smith (Philadelphia, Pa USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hattie B's Daughter [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I first borrowed this CD "Hattie B's Daughter" from the local library , I loved it. I write weekly reviews on products, and services at Epinions.com. I wrote a review on this CD, Epinions advised me of the VHS of "Hattie B's Daughter" available for sale. I jumped at the opportunity to have this video. Back to Hattie B's Daughter with Dorothy Norwood, I must say, after watching this heart warming video I cried it was recorded live at the Anderson United Methodist Church in Jackson Ms. This is the best gospel video I've watched its touch of spirituality is wonderful, its music is extradinary, its atomsphere is beautiful. Dorothy Norwood at her golden age looks beautiful, she sings with authority, power and strength.

She teams with gospel greats: Albertina Walker,Willie Neal Johnson of the Gospel Keynotes, and James Moore. The collaboration of these artists brings this video to an unending climax of great music. On "I'll Make To The Promise Land," "The Storm Is Almost Gone," "It Is Finished," "I'm Nothing Without Him ," and "Shake The Devil Off" are all moving songs of faith and inspiration. The music provided also adds more than a plus and uplift to this live concert on video. Dorothy Norwood and the choirs does a most splendid job on providing us with beautiful rich sounds of traditional soul gospel music.

The interview with Ms. Norwood is also a joy to watch she revisits the days of segreation in the south and the oppression of blacks during the years of segregation, but she testifies of her spiritual walk with Christ,as it being a tool that sustained her. She also gives the glory to God for her accomplishments in gospel music, when the question was raised to her of being the greatest story teller she states that when you think you got it going on somebody else will come and knock you out, so I give all the glory to God. I laughted at her demeaner when she stated this , but she couldn't have be more correct.

Indeed this is a spectaular video and a must buy. Its 5 star rating is far beneath its fine quaility it is deserving of much more. Overall, if you love good old fashioned church, if you love good old fashioned gospel music, and Dorothy Norwood, most importantly if you want your soul to be blessed, and uplifted than this VHS video of Hattie B's Daughter is for you. Trust me! you'll enjoy this video very much.

Thank you Ms. Norwood and may the Lord richly bless you as you continue his work into the furtherance of his kingdom, and carrying out The Great Commission.
