More About the Author

I am the author or ghostwriter of 24 books, including Celine Dion's authorized biography (Celine Dion: For Keeps) and a Marilyn Monroe biography authorized by her estate (The Marilyn Monroe Treasures).

Some of my books have been turned into movies; others have been released in multiple languages around the world. I love what I do and the opportunities it gives me to meet and chronicle the lives of some pretty fascinating people.

Take, for instance, Scott Rigsby, the first double-amputee to finish the Hawaiian Ironman triathlon. Not only did he have no legs, but he also had two slipped discs in his back and one eye swollen shut on the day of the race. Our book is called Unthinkable.

Then there's Susan Markowitz, whose son's murder was the basis of the movie Alpha Dog. Our book is My Stolen Son.

Gaby Rodriguez made major headlines when she faked a pregnancy as her senior project in high school. Our book is The Pregnancy Project (also a Lifetime movie by the same name).

I've also written several health and self-help books, such as Bullyproof Your Child for Life with Joel Haber, Ph.D.

I live in New York with my awesome daughter. I have oddly wedge-shaped feet, and an excessive number of mugs. Maybe one day I'll get bigger cabinets.

I don't know a single child who isn't afraid of his/her first haircut. Hattie Get A Haircut takes children on a magical adventure to a land where long hair causes many mishaps and attracts the strangest things, like nesting birds. In the end, Hattie not only gets her hair cut, but she found out it wasn't as scarey as she once thought. A bonus to the book is the fact that Hattie's stuffed bear mimicks Hattie's facial expressions, which makes it a fun way to turn this book into an interactive adventure as you and your child not only look for the bear throughout the book, but mimick Hattie as well.

My 2 & 4 year old kids were quite happy to discover a new book waiting for them after naptime. Hattie has become my 4 year old daughter's favorite book. The illustrations are adorable. The rhymes are cute. My daughter has begun repeating some of Hattie's phrases, and never fails to ask questions about the illustrations, like why there are animals in Hattie's hair during the dream. She loves seeing Hattie's new haircut and wants me to cut her hair the same way (fortunately she doesn't have a haircut phobia, though her hair doesn't grow fast enough to warrant many cuts herself).

Even my 2 year old son sits through the entire reading, staring intently at the page - unusual for a boy that age! As an adult, I can appreciate the story and don't (yet) mind reading it several times a day.

We have been searching for a child's book dealing with this dilema for a few years now with zero luck. Jenna Glatzer, may the Good Lord shower you and your family with mountains of blessings for bringing this flawless gem into lives! The illustrations are delightful compliments to the perfectly-paced read.

This is a truely charming book. The whole issue of hair--combing, cutting, etc--was very upsetting to me when I was a small child, and I understand from Moms I work with, it continues to be "one of those kid things!" The book has amazing action and imagination, and the illustrations carry out the theme perfectly! One of those books a parent will not mind reading again and again to their children.
