first i wanted to go with a travel system, but since i have heard and read so much about how it is not good for baby's back to sit in a carrier/carseat in the first months (except for short shopping trips, or to the doctor) i decided to buy a stroller that comes with a bassinett. so i was trying to find one within our budget, which wasn't easy. then i found this one. i chose it out of the i'coo, the first years wave and the britax b-ready which were all more expensive.
good brandname, all the features i wanted (i liked the icoo in the first place, same brand, maybe higher quality, but also a lot more expensive) and a decent price. the only thing i need to buy extra is a carseat, but that's ok, so i have the choice. it came in pieces and was not too hard to assemble, just the instructions were not correct since they haven't changed them from the old model. 2 screws were also missing, so i couldn't put the bassinett stand together, but the very friendly costumer service took care of it. after knowing why i had problems setting everything up (because of the missing pieces) it was easy. i just got it and our baby is due in september, but what i can say already: features i love -super light -easy to steer -easy to assemble -all fabric parts can be taken off easily and are washable -decent quality for very low price -i love the huge canopy -soft fabrics -the chair is reclinable to almost flat level - good size bassinett, good height too, so the baby can sleep next to our bed -good customer service these are the things i really love, but i like pretty much everything about it so far. i would like it even better: -it doesn't swivel (like the first years wave) that would be really nice extra. -the instructions go with the old model...please change that mr hauck - the handle ist not adjustable- i am short so i don't care, but if you are on the taller side, it might be to low for you! all together i can really recommend this stroller so far- for under 300$ a perfect buy.

I went through 2 Graco travel systems with my first daughter and currently have a Kolcraft Contours Tandem Options II. After having abdominal surgery, I was imposed a 15 lb weight limit for 6-8 weeks and could no longer lift our double stroller out of my suv or carry my baby in her carseat.
I love this stroller because it is light...combined weight of 18 lbs, and since it has to be taken apart to fold, the pieces are light enough for me to safely lift. I love the bassinett/pram function. The pad is thick and comfortable and the shade is great. The stroller is also compatible with our Britax Chaperone carseat. I haven't used it yet with the seat, but I did assemble it just to see and it looked great. I also love that all of the pieces are machine washable. Assembly was easy, if you are good at Ikea style (no words, just pictures). I got the old manual too, but it wasn't hard to figure out. I was missing the 2 screws to the stand as well, but customer service was really nice and took care of everything. I wish the carseat adapter didn't need to come off to fold up, but it is fast and easy... Cupholders would be nice, but I am sure I can find something after market.

Great Stroller!!!,

I have been wanting a stroller like this since I found out I was pregnant but after searching for hours I couldn't find ANYTHING in my price range!!! Strollers like this are on the upwards of $800, so when I found this, I HAD TO BUY IT!!! I am not disappointed at all! I disagree completely with the other reviewer who thinks the bassinet doesn't feel secured, I think it totally does! If I didn't I would have returned it the second I bought it! The only con of the stroller would be the instructions. They were absolutely terrible. If you are having difficulty with putting it together, go to the Hauck website and find the instructional manual there. For some reason, there is more information on that one. Just the other day (after three months of use) the lever that allows the stroller to be folded down broke. I called the company I bought it from and they got the US rep for Hauck get into contact with me, they are shipping the part now. She told me if I can't figure it out or if it doesn't fix the problem to call and she will send me another stroller! WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE on their end! I get sooo many compliments on this stroller and feel so "classy" when I'm walking around with my son :) It's truly a beautiful stroller and I really love it, I'm a proud owner and would recommend it to anyone! unhappy,
This review is from: Hauck 2011 Malibu Stroller w/ Bassinet and Stand - Plum (Baby Product)
I was looking for a modern looking well priced stroller for my son and then I found this one. In the begining I liked it since it had a bassinet for my imfant but even then i had a problem getting to the basket. as time went on the foam on the handlebar got completely distroyed (thru light use). another major problem i had with this stroller was that my sons head kept bumping into the side and he even developed a bump, it was very scary. my back wheel also fell apart. i did get these parts replaced after 2 weeks of waiting. I was misled by the look and reveiws of this stroller and I would like to spare anyone else the frusteration.

I am not due for 4 more months but ordered stroller and put together.
-Universal Car Seat Adapter: Was excited for this feature, however the "durable" foam had gouges and cuts in it. My Graco Snug Ride DOES NOT feel very secure on it. I placed my daughters life size baby doll in it, and just didn't feel sturdy. -The bassinet was a cool feature that was pretty easy to get on/off the stroller. It is pretty large and kinda heavy. The was some weird markings or stain on the bassinet bed. Washed the bassinet pad cover and was very hard to put back on, pad is still not laying flat. -The bassinet stand was confusing as it is different than the picture in the manual. -Regular Stroller, was so frustrated that I didn't even bother putting it together yet. It does come with a bag to hold the parts you aren't using yet. The handle bar with the foam had large cut gouges on it and the frame with scratched in places. -Directions: Terrible for a [$] stroller. It is all pictures and the only text is :"Click". Very helpful. My husband was frustrated with the directions as was I, and I have already put together a crib with missing directions as well as an Arms Reach. I am kind of sad I spent [$] on it. Edited Review: -After baby arrived, the Graco car seat felt more secure with the weight of a real baby in it. Only downside is the car seat adapter has to be removed when folding the stroller down. The pram has to be removed as well, and takes up a lot of room in the back of my 2011 Nissan Rogue. The hood on the pram is hard to push down, because the buttons on both sides need to be pushed in. I end up using my head to push back or ask my 6 year old for help. The boot or cover for the pram is nice, helps block sun on walks, and the deflects the wind which is important in Southern California. The basket is very small, but I use it to store my Moby Wrap, or items when we are shopping, and end up placing my diaper bag on the handle with special straps. I don't mind the lack of cup holders yet, as I can toss a water bottle in the basket. I have used this to walk around the neighborhood, but its best use is on even surfaces like the mall, grocery store or restaurants.

SUMMARY: Bad instructions, tools aren't accommodating, UNIVERSAL car seat adapter is NOT universal. Bassinet wasn't very secure when attached to stoller and was bumpy.
Was excited to get a stroller/bassinet/car seat stroller. Was a little hesitant since this is a new item and didn't have many reviews. Took the plunge and figured "how bad could it be?"... Well, upon receiving the stroller the instruction manual didn't even match the stroller. Apparently it's from their old line so we immediately thought we were missing pieces. The instructions have NO text, pictures only. Tried to visit the website for some additional instructions, and found a video with a man speaking. YES!!! Turn on the speakers.... "WHAT!!!! He's talking but we can only hear MUSIC!!" What's the point?? So it was basically the same instructions put in motion to some nice music. Didn't ease our struggles putting this thing together. Included was a screwdriver and wrench to assemble the bassinet holder. After figuring out where they were supposed to go; turns out the wrench isn't the proper shape to get the screw/nut into place. We then hunted around the house and didn't find ANYTHING that would fit to get this thing in. So we moved on. After getting the wheels on the stroller and realizing how the UNIVERSAL car seat adapter is put on, we then tried to place our Britax B-Safe on it, and it didn't even come close. Back in the box, getting returned.

Initially it was fantastic then the front wheels began to bend and the frame snapped in half after 5 months' use. A realy bad choice

So far it's a GREAT stroller!,
This review is from: Hauck 2011 Malibu Stroller w/ Bassinet and Stand **CLOSEOUT** - Charcoal/Black (Baby Product)
Just got this stroller for my baby shower! Was very nervous since there are mixed reviews, but figured I'd give it a try... I have not used it yet but so far I think it's going to be great! Although the instructions are bad (only pictures) it was fairly simple to put together... seems to wheel very nicely and I have already figured out how to attach and unattach the bassinet and car seat holder... No complaints so far! Looks great!

all in all it's a great product from what i hear from friends. i am not happy that it took me 20 minutes to figure out how to attach the bassinet to the frame. the instructions did not even mention it. i also don't like that it didn't come with a rain cover.

Manual Masterpiece,

A Manual is great but only for two purposes: to prime a campfire, or to be used at that same campsite if regular toilet paper is no longer available. The contents look like the art produced by a hedgehog who ate a wrong mushroom.Be advised that the product is poorly designed for the cold weather conditions. The infant should be dressed warmly before being placed in this carriage. That may cause excesive sweating if you cannont get out on the street within one or two minutes after dressing the child. In other words if you live on 20th floor of highly populated building, don't buy it. |
