1.0 out of 5 stars A real shame, June 15, 2004
By
An Amazon Guy (Boston, MA, United States of America) - See all my reviews
This is the first of the shameful series of Boxcar Children books that were written long after the author's death. The first 19 are wonderfully written classics of children's literature. The rest, for the most part, are pointless fluff, not engaging for parents or most children. If you are reading them all to your children, and in order, they will also become very confused here: Throughout Warner's original series, the characters aged and matured quite a bit. Starting with this book, they are inexplicably returned to and perpetually stuck at their original ages.

My active 9 year old son thoroughly enjoys this series, even with a different author, the same flavor of the books continue. The only complaint my son had was the Alden kids became young again.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Haunted Cabin Mystery, December 31, 1999
By A Customer
The children went to visit their grandpa's friend. He lived in a Haunted cabin! I thought it was a little scary. It was still good.
