More About the Author

I am a native of South Jersey, of Italian descent, and have a large extended family on both sides of my family tree. After surviving the turmoil of teenager-hood, I went through college and spent the next ten years working as a reporter for local newspapers. During that time, I covered everything from entertainment to criminal cases at the county courthouse and was fortunate enough to work with people who honed my passion for the written word. After a while, I drifted out of the newspaper business into the world of museums, which is a story for another day. In 2003, I finally achieved my master's degree, took my first trip to New Orleans and, unbelievably, signed my first book contract. Since then, I have written six books. The fifth, Rain of Bullets, was my biggest project to date: a true crime story about a man named Ernest Ingenito, who shot and killed five of his in-laws in 1950 during a domestic violence dispute. Number six, True Crime: Ohio, is another anthology that will be released in the spring of 2011. I am currently researching book seven, New Jersey Ghost Towns, which should be a lot of fun to assemble since there is no shortage of material. I have a number of other interests that include travel, reading, t'ai chi, and collecting antiques but I am consumed by writing. If I don't write, I don't breathe properly. Fortunately, there is always another story to tell.
