The concept of a "haunted ghoul bus" is a good one, and the animation here is acceptable. But the verses offend the ear so much that it's painful to read aloud to even a 2-year-old. The Amazon reviewer cited the worst stanza, but you also have:

"And where would they be dropped off? / My heart beat fast... my breath came quick... / I thought my head would pop off."

or

"I'm sorry, son, for my mistake / but now the fun has timed out. / It's off to school for kids like you / before your teachers find out."

Gag.

My daughter is 7 and she raved about this book from school. We bought it for her and it is pretty cute!!

I have 2 boys, ages 5 and 2.5. They love this book! We've read it every night for at least a week. The pictures are fun and it's engaging to read - it's written in a sing-song, rhyming fashion. Love it!

My kids love this book. Unlike the other reviewer, I find the lyrics to be entertaining and laugh-out-loud. At the very least, you'll smile each time you read it. My four-year-old loves this book; we read it year-round. My 18-month-old loves the textures on the pages as the graphics are embossed. We received it as a gift, but I will probably by it for many others as Halloween gifts. Love it!

We received this yesterday and my 4 year old and 2 year old LOVE it. My 4 year old has made me read it a million times already. Every time he looks at it he finds something new in the drawings, "look at the 3 eyed spider Mommy!" This book is clever and fun, I'm sure it will be a fixture way past Halloween.

The Haunted Ghoul Bus is very entertaining! The characters really come alive through the creative and eye catching illustrations! After reading this I want to see what other adventures the little boy may have! He seems like a fun little kid who could go to all sorts of fun places! All the small details in the illustrations and the embossed pages make each page fun to look at!
