This review is from: Haunted Marietta (GA) (Haunted America) (Paperback)
I've lived in Cobb county for most of the past 19 years so I was pretty excited to learn about Rhetta Akamatu's recently published book of Marietta ghost stories. She has done an excellent job of rounding up stories and history and weaving them together into a book anyone who is familiar with the area or just interested in ghosts will enjoy. Some of the haunted places she writes about I've known about while others I didn't. She tells of spirits being experienced at various locations on the Square, at the Kennesaw Battlefield and in several of the cemeteries as well as many other locations. There is plenty of local history in the book as well as theories on different kinds of haunting activity. What I enjoyed as much as the book's subject was Ms. Akamatsu's writing style. She has writing and editing experience and it shows in the easy flowing and orderly manner in which she writes. She also has training as a paranormal investigator so she actually knows what she is writing about. Pick this book up and learn about some of the hauntings in Marietta as well as about some of the rich history of this charming Southern town.
