5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST GOOSEBUMPS BOOK!
Attention all Goosebumps fans. You have to buy this book. It is about a girl named Carly Beth Cadwell who bought a mask from a Party Store and when she put it on, the mask became her real face. It was revenge from two boys named Steve and Chuck. It is the best Goosebumps book I ever read. So read this book!

3.0 out of 5 stars Masked horror
Carly Beth is a wimp. Everything scares her. And her friends enjoy teasing her and make her jump. Now she's had it. On Halloween she will use a mask so hideous she'll scare them all. But the mask changes her. You could almost say it becomes part of her...

If you can buy into the idea, it's a good story.

5.0 out of 5 stars "If looks could kill...", January 31, 2004

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Haunted Mask (Goosebumps Series) (Paperback)
I was addicted to these books when I was younger and it wasn't until I was majoring in education in college that I figured out why. They were interesting with bizarre plot twists that most 9-12 year olds don't think about and they were short (usually between 110-130 pages). I could read the whole thing in a day.

My parents also didn't have a lot of heartache with buying me a new book because these are relatively inexpensive (in the neighborhood of 3-5 bucks each).

R.L. Stine's "Goosebumps" books aren't scary, just kind of creepy. There aren't graphic descriptions of murder and mayhem. Just some ghosts, werewolves, or potions. The main character is alive in the end, and the final chapter resolves everything.

**Keep in mind, R.L. Stine has other books that aren't in the "Goosebumps" series that tend to be a little harsher when it comes to hauntings and plot. They are written more for the 12-14 age group and are longer (around 150-200 pages).

5.0 out of 5 stars The Mask, April 12, 2001
A Kid's Review
This is a very good book, but it isn't very scary. I do recommend that you read this Goosebumps book. This book is great for young readers ages 9-13. It's not the best book that I've ever read but I would put it on my top 10 list. The Goosebumps series are very good books to read for all ages. R.L. Stine is one of my favorite authors. I think that everyone should read The Haunted Mask.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Haunted Mask, May 12, 1998
By A Customer
This amazing book by R.L. Stein tells about the many problems that we have when were are trying to be something we aren't. This chilling story takes place on Halloween, the day and night of October 31st. This sets the mood on a girl named Carly Beth. She is a scaredy-cat. Most of the boy pranksters play jokes on her, like when they put worms in her sandwhich and she screamed. Then on Halloween day, right after school, she goes into this abandoned mask store and steals a mask. And that is where the fun starts. She can't seem to take it off and it becomes a part of her. My Grandson has become an avid reader and frequently asks me to order books for him. This book was one of his requests and he was very appreciative of receiving the book as part of his Easter gift. Thanks for the prompt delivery. The book was a great gift.
