5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good
I have another New Orleans haunting book and was prepared to have overlapping stories. The author does a great job of having stories that are not always the same as other books on New Orleans. Great reading.

This review is from: Haunted New Orleans: Ghosts & Hauntings of the Crescent City (Paperback)
The book, "Haunted New Orleans", as suggested by its title, is about ghosts and hauntings of the Cresent city by the Mississippi.
The book however, is very disappointing. Almost a quarter to half of the book is taken up by the historical and cultural aspects about the city instead. Although the remaining portion deals with the titled subject, the stories seem limited, or brief. It also fails to provide much fresh stories or information about the many ghosts and hauntings of the city (many of such stories for example, about Lalaurie Mansion, the Voodoo Queen, Octoroon Mistress, etc. could be found over the internet). Above all these, the book is very poorly produced. The cover (esp. the back), and the quality of the printing in the book leaves much to be desired. If you are seriously interested in reading about this subject, I would recommend the following instead: Jeanne deLavigne's classic book, "Ghost Stories of Old New Orleans", and "New Orleans Ghosts I & II" by Victor Klein.

This book is written the way a book should be written about Ghosts. Not only were the stories told in a way people can actually understand them, but The history of New orleans was brought forth in a way that you can actually sit and read about it and not get bored. If anyone thinks otherwise than you must be very, very hard to please. Good job yet again Troy. My thoughts and prayers go out to ya NEW ORLEANS!!!!!!!!!!!

The author writes about one of his favorite cities New Orleans. Taylor was able to do some of the research for this book while consulting on the movie "The St. Francisville Experiment" based in St Francisville, LA. Taylor always writes good books. Ever since I read the Ghosthunter's Handbook, later revised and called the Ghosthunter's Guidebook, I have been hooked on his books. I ca't wait to see what comes out next.
