This book was a complete disappointment. Every story begins with a long, involved history lesson (think pages and pages), and then the last few paragraphs talk about the haunting. It's as if the author decided to write a history book, and maybe throw in a few tidbits about ghosts here and there. What a letdown. I love history, but I didn't buy this book for a history lesson. I wanted ghost stories! My suggestion is if you're looking for a book that focuses on hauntings and the paranormal, pass on this book.

I'm not sure what the author was going for but this is more of a history lesson than a book on hauntings.

OK as a Paranormal group you might think about buying all kinds of books to help with learning how to and where to investigate, this book is good but not one of my top rated books to buy. As for the seller of the book, you can't get any better, all the sellers I have bought books from have delivered great condition books at a great price. Back to the books, it does give locations but with it comes a story that will or will not help if you go to the locations talked about, over all it is worth buying but don't pass up a how to book to buy this one.

I have a haunted castles book by the same author and really liked it so when I saw the Haunted Places in America I had to have it. Good travel book if you like visiting haunted places!

good for planning a ghost tour style vacation or getting ideas for paranormal investigations if you are a professional or amateur researcher.

overall though it lacks the more indepth information as it tries to compress quantity instead of quality information on the selected locations.
