This review is from: Haunted: A Tale of the Mediator (Hardcover)
Susie Simon has an interesting life. She is just beginning the junior year of high school, has a fascinating job, a broody boyfriend, and has caught the eye of the handsome new boy in town. There are just a few glitches. The "job" is as a mediator, someone who helps departed souls find their place. Her boyfriend, Jesse, is a ghost, and the new guy almost got both of them trapped in another universe over the summer. Not only that, but he is currently running for her job as student vice president, and there is a newly displaced ghost lurking around in need of her help. This ghost might also have deadly plans for a living person, and Susie is finding that she needs none other than her nemesis, Paul's, help in making sure everything works out all right. To further her problems, she is attracted to Paul, and feels disloyal to Jessie as a result.***** Teen age life can be nasty business, and Ms. Cabot is wonderful at expressing this in a humorous, yet touching way. The romantic triangle forming here is fascinating, if less erotic, than two other triangles that have captivated older readers, the Stephanie - Ranger - Joe or Anita - Jean Claude - Richard, ones. Mothers can enjoy this book almost as much as their teen and slightly preteen daughters, and are encouraged to do so. Although I might have enjoyed it more had I read the other books in the series, I had no trouble picking up on the action. ***** Reviewed by Amanda Killgore.

The living nightmare...,
This review is from: Haunted (The Mediator, Book 5) (Mass Market Paperback)
Susannah (Suze) Simon is not your ordinary sixteen year old girl. She is a mediator, a person who guides wayword souls to their final resting place. After going through a hectic summer and finally kissing Jesse, the hot 150 year old ghost who lives in her room, Suze is ready to get back to school. Things though just don't go Suze's way. The new guy in school is creating a lot of buzz and it just happens to be Paul Slater, a hot, but very evil fellow mediator whose been giving Suze nightmares all summer. Suze though is intent on staying committed to Jesse, even though he has been avoiding her ever since their intimate kiss and it doesn't help that Paul seems to know a lot more than Suze does about a mediator's powers and what it could do to certain ghost, like Jesse. Not only does Suze have to deal with Paul, but her stepbrother Sleepy has brought back a new college friend who also happened to bring along a resentful dead brother. Things aren't working the way Suze had hoped for and for once her fears may be catching up with her. This book had so many plotlines and what Paul said about mediators was somewhat confusing. The next book should clear up some of the confusion though. This overall had to be the weakest book in the series. The humor and edginess was definitely missing but it is still a good read even though Meg Cabot wasn't at her best.

A Unique Blast,

This review is from: Haunted (The Mediator, Book 5) (Mass Market Paperback)
Meg Cabot's kept her promises and has added another truly fantastic book to the compelling Mediator series. Meet Susannah "Suze" Simon, whose life is getting more complicated by the minute. Her heart belongs to Jesse, a gorgeous 19th century ghost that haunts her bedroom - in a good way - but Paul Slater, who's unexpectantly turned up at the Mission and is described by his grandfather as 'the spawn of the devil' is keen to take her breath away. And, as much as Suze hates to admit it, he's succeeding. But she can't help it. Because Paul is threatening to send Jesse hurtling off into the afterlife, and this time for real, unless she spends more time with him. Visits to Paul's mansion aren't exactly a chore, either - Suze is learning more about how to utilize her abilities as a 'shifter' and has discovered terrifying things about her kind. And researching isn't the only activity the two alive teenagers get up to, either, and Suze can't confess it to Jesse. And Father Dominic, clueless about romance, has been doing some interfering himself, which may explain why Jesse has been acting weird around Suze lately. Will the hot Jesse and ghost-busting heroine Suze be separated forever? Or is it just meant to be? This amazing instalment will transport you to another world, where there are whirlwinds of passion, hate, mystery and secrets of soul transference. You can't miss it, buy it now.

Haunted,

This review is from: Haunted: A Tale of the Mediator (Hardcover)
Susannah Simon is a mediator, someone who helps ghosts reach their afterlife. this book is the continuation of "Darkest Hour". Paul Slater, a mediator that met Suze at a place where she was baby-sitting is back. He enrolls into Suze's school and wants to teach Suze about being a mediator and what she can do. Suze hates Paul and refuses, but Paul doesn't give up. Eventually, Suze agrees to go over to Paul's place. Suze runs away from Paul after *something* happens. Jake, Suze's oldest stepbrother has a friend named Neil. Neil's brother Craig died and wants revenge on his brother, and it's up to Suze to handle the ghost.Jesse, a ghost that lives in Suze's bedroom has been leaving more often after their kiss. Suze thinks Jesse doesn't feel the same way about her because he decides to leave. Dopey, Suze's stepbrother throws a party where Paul and Jesse see each other again, and they fight. During their fight, CeeCee, Suze's friend becomes suspicious of Jesse, and comes to the conclusion that Jesse is a ghost. Suze goes into a different place, by thinking of it in her mind. She sees Paul. He tells her to learn more from him. Suze agrees but only if Paul stays away from Jesse. Paul says he will. Suze goes back into the real world and later sees Jesse. The ending of this book was the best!!! There has to be another Mediator book!!!

Haunting,

This review is from: Haunted: A Tale of the Mediator (Hardcover)
I can honestly say that this book is my favorite young adult book and is part of my favorite young adult series. If you haven't already figured it out yet, Suze is a mediator(she can talk and touch ghosts who haven't passed on yet) and has been haunted by ghosts all her life, but now she's being "haunted" by someone who's alive and wants no one but her...*cough*Paul*cough* It's the funniest and best book! I luff it soooo much! Jesse is a major hottie and if your a total Jesse/Suze fan, you'll totally love the ending! but the ending is on such a big cliffhanger, it'll leave you craving for more and the next book does't come out until Jan. ... 2005! thats like a FULL year and some... *cries* T-T i can't wait that long... *sighs* well anyways, buy this book, you'll end up reading it over so many times, the libary or friend you'd borrow it from would start sending you nasty letters... >.>; lol but WARNING before you read this book, make sure you've read the other books in the Mediator series under Meg Cabots other name: Jenny Carroll otherwise it's spoiled... I know i really didn't give much of a summary, but trust me on this, it's such a wicked awesome book, BUY IT ... or else! o.O; whoa, got a lil carried away there... peace man...>>moondragon<<

Haunted Book Review,
This review is from: Haunted: A Tale of the Mediator (Paperback)
The suspenseful romance novel, Haunted, written by Meg Cabot keeps the attention of the readers. The main character, Suze Simon, has the ability to talk to the living and the dead. Suze takes on the name mediator and later learns that she's a shifter. A shifter can go to the dead world and back again.Haunted becomes interesting because of the romance and confusion. Suze ends up in love with a dead guy from the 1800's. It becomes more confusing when Paul, the guy who tried killing Suze and haunts her every night when she goes to sleep, starts to like her. So what happens to a girl who loves a dead man and then becomes liked by the guy who tried to kill her? Read it and find out.

My Favorite in the whole series! (Spoiler Warning),

This review is from: Haunted (The Mediator, Book 5) (Mass Market Paperback)
The fifth book in the Mediator Series, Haunted, is my favorite in the whole series. It's amazing and shows just how much Suze is not indestructable and how human she is and that even she can make huge mistakes. After Jeese's standoffish behavior since their kiss, Suze feels vulerable. She gets taken advantage off by Paul Slater-- the same Paul Slater whom she meet at her summer job at the golf course, and the same Paul who is now attending her school-- and ends up kissing him. SHe tries to hide it from Jesse, with no sucess. Paul also says that if she doesn't keep hanging out with him, he'll get rid of Jesse for good, which she can't let happen. After all of this-- and the fact that Father Dominic has decided that because of Jesse and Suze's "incident", Jesse must move into the rectory-- will Suze ever have Jesse admit how much he needs her? Of course!

I love this series!,

The real reason anyone reads a review is to find out if it's actually worth buying, right? So I won't waste your time giving you all the juicy details of this amazingly cute and entertaining book.If you haven't read any of Meg Cabot's other books, then this is definitely where you want to start! The Mediator series is by far her best work yet (in my opinion). The characters have depth, they're interesting, the plot is pretty original, and of course, the main male character, Jesse, makes reading this series even more exciting! And, if you're worried about how it might end, all I will say is that it ends perfectly. It ends exactly how it should end. If you have read other Meg Cabot books, I can just say that you won't be disappointed if you buy this series. It's even more adorable than most of her other work. I loved every page in every book. There was absolutely nothing that I hated and wished she had done over. A lot of people find it hard to accept the fact that this girl can see ghosts, that she falls in love with one, and that she eventually travels through time in an unusual way. But don't let that stop you from reading this series.... you really will love it :)

OMG i started reading this book @ 3pm and ended @ 11:30 pm (I couldn't put it down) I stayed up later then that thinking about. This book has Suze (THE MEDIATOR)wondering what Jesse's (the HOTTIE latino ghost)feelings are for her, one moment he is calling her querdia (dearest on, in spanish) and the next he is ingnoring her. Plus Paul's(a HOTTIE who can also talk 2 ghosts) back in the picture and he knows how to take Jesse away from Suze. This book takes you on twists and turns is my favorite so far.

i love Meg Cabot!!! ps i tend to give away lots of detail,
This review is from: Haunted (The Mediator, Book 5) (Mass Market Paperback)
I read this book before the first ones in the series and it was really good but I reccomend that you read the other four first because then it is even better. In this book Suze the mediator, someone who can see and speak with the dead, agrees to go out with Paul Slater, a mediator like her, because he threatens that he will send Jesse to his next life if she doesn't. He tells her that she can do more than she thinks and is destined to be more than a mediator. He tells her to come to his house so he can show her what he knows. She hates his guts seeing as how he practically killed her, but he says that she could have escaped with the powers that she is not yet aware of. She doesn't want to believe him and besides, she is in love with Jesse, except she can't really expect to be with him because he is already dead. While dealing with all of this, her college-going step brother brings home a new friend who has a ghost-brother following him. By mistake Suze hints to the ghost that he is capable of killing. This ghost now is determined to kill his brother to get his life back, he thinks he is the one who should be alive. Lots more happens in this book and it is really really good so you should definately read it as well as the rest of the series and Meg Cabot's other books.
