I was excited to get this dvd set. I popped it in the player and I thought my audio was messed up. The spooky narrator was silent and the shows started silent and didnt make sense. I thought I better check Amazon to see the latest details. Come to find out, the company forgot to put the narrator in. I dont really know how you can forget something like that but thats anther story. I emailed the company and the told me to send it back and they'll send out a copy within a week. What a inconvenience. Im so sick of buying defective products then having to go to the post office to mail them back to the sellers. Plus I have to wait an extra two weeks (with shipping) just to watch the show. The show is good but its unrealistic and feels more like a cheaply made horror movie sans the gore. I do enjoy some of the shows they've had and I love the narrator of the show, probably second best to Robert Stack. I recommend this show to people who like Unsolved Mysteries, only if they wished the program was extended by forty minutes or more. The dvd is pretty bare and looks like it was made for pretty cheap. Probably the reason why the was narrator left out. It is good for a scare or two though.

I've been a longtime fan of the show and just purchased the box set on Friday. My problem with this DVD collection is they took out the narration. This may not seem like a big deal but the narration is a huge part of the show. It sets up everything and watching the show without the narration takes something away. Unfortunately this wasn't released directly by The Discovery Channel. I can't think of the name of the company that put it out but they need to recall the DVDs and rerelease them WITH the narration. I can't honestly say I'd recommend people buy this.

I read all the disappointed reviews about the defected DVDs' without the narration, so I went to my local Bestbuy and bought it there. I had No problems with my dvds and they all contain the narration thank goodness! Here is a list of the episodes you get:

I always look forward to this show and I hope they release Season's 3 & 4 soon!

We are TMG (Timeless Media Group). We are aware of the narration problem, it was a manufacturing problem, which is being corrected. The "new" set, available the week of Sept. 17, 2007, WILL HAVE the narration included. It was never our intention for the narration to be excluded. We apologize for the inconvenience that this cause.

I received this set a few days ago and mine works great. So hopefully all of Amazon's old sets without the narration has now been replaced with sets that include them. Great stories and well acted overall!

Luckily I didn't buy this product. I heard about the narraration being left out and decided to call Timless Media Group's 800# and ask them if the glitch had been fixed yet. They said it had and all of the current DVDs they are selling have the full narraration on them. The woman told me the price was $29.98 and I remarked that Amazon had it for $10 cheaper. She told me that Amazon is still selling the unnarrarated version of the DVDs, which is why they are cheaper. Amazon does NOT have the corrected version of the DVDs yet. So if you're looking to buy this product, you're better off spending the extra money and buying it from Timeless Media Group. Their customer service was top notch, they were super friendly. I love Amazon and have used them many, many times, but on this one particular product, you're not getting what you think you're getting.

I purchased the newer edition that includes the narration, and i believe the earlier problems people encountered have been rectified.

This no frills boxset includes three discs with 16 episodes & selection for each, at the main menu.

Overall, i really enjoyed this series, with some episodes being more believable than others.
Particular favorites are "Dark Forest", "Haunting in Florida", "Sallie's House", "Gateway to hell", "Summerwind", "Lake Club Horror", and "House of the Dead."
These episodes present eerie visuals & interesting, realistic story lines.
Other segments incorporate a few silly "demon" like creations & overacting, possesed children.
Those lesser stories still remained highly entertaining, though a bit comical & less effective.
Most of the episodes incorporate some sort of exorcism to rid a body or house of the ghostly intruders, and if one lesson is to be learned through this series, it's that the majority of the time this ritual is ineffective!
When this show succeeds, though, it presents a great look into the paranormal.
Viewer's will notice the re-enactments of the actual stories feature many of the same actors in different segments.
At first, this amused me, but later i appreciated how strong many of the performances were & got lost in the story.

I had never viewed the series on the Discovery channel, but the box cover & description immediately caught my interest.
I'm very pleased with purchasing this series & look forward to the next installment!

Great Recreations! a TRUE indepth look into the Supernatural! I've looked at each and every episode (repeats to) that the discovery channel had, and i was amazed. The knowledge and detail of every account that the families want through was breathtaking. I am glad that they came forward with the truth. I am that more amazed that a cable channel (DISCOVERY) was brave enough to show it to the world! Kudos to the Discovery channel for DISCOVERING what we really want...the TRUTH!

I called TMZ and they told me they are aware of the problem and are getting new batches with the narration in it.
