Truly One of the Best Christian Series, December 17, 2008
This review is from: The Haunting (Forbidden Doors, Book 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
This little book is truly amazing. It is enlightening. Even though it is physically small, it packs a powerful punch.
This book is the 4th book of the series. It is about two Christian children, Becka and Scott, and their mother. They just moved to California from South America, after the dad's plane went down. (He was a pilot who flew missionaries into South America.) I actually looked forward to visiting this lovely, cozy family each night before going to bed. Scott is one fine Christian lad, and Becka is awesome, too. Their mom should be proud of them. Another character I really love is Susan, and also her husband Todd - they are youth leaders - they are a good example of Christian encouragement and inspiration.
This particular book is about a "haunted" mansion - is it really haunted or just an illusion?
This book reminds us of the importance, necessity, and power of forgiveness, prayer, and love. Scott's and Becka's faith is amazing.
The book stresses the need for all parts of God's armor in order to fight the battle: truth, faith, righteousness, prayer, scripture, forgiveness, and love. Even though Becka and Scott are fighting "physical" ghouls, I think they are representative of the "mental" ghouls we all (both teens and adults) really do have to fight in real life: "Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil." Ephesians 6:12.
There is a victory at the end of the book that makes the angels party.

The Haunting, June 5, 2002
This review is from: The Haunting (Forbidden Doors, Book 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
I LOVED this book!!! It does get pretty scary near the end but knowing that with God we can triumph over any demons helps. And the situations The Williams' find themselves in with demons are exxagerating to crate suspense and drama. I recommend all the Forbidden Doors books! The Haunting and The Gaurdian were my favorites.
